Full disclosure: Ive been a lurker for 5 years and it wasnt until last night that I actually created this user account. (Hate me if you may, but Im just being honest)
Concern: I have followed this thread since its inception with much enjoyment, including the not-so-good stuff. This evening there were two (2), essentially simultaneous posts, that lead us all to believe our VFL prayers had been answered (Gruden deal was finalized). When I got back home from dinner, I logged on VN to find it was as if these posts had never been written.
Question: What in the f&$% is the real story?!?! Do we or do we not have the coach Vol Nation needs and wants?!?
Narco_vol, though I've been a member for quite a while, I too have been mostly lurking for the last several years; nor have I been active here long enough to learn whose information to trust and whose information to ignore, though I am beginning to get an idea who those people are. I am not privy to any inside information coming out of the AD. It seems like information passes super-quickly here - sometimes much faster than I can read it. I think the best information today landed about 5:11 PM.
It's almost like a game, and I think that's why this thread is so engaging. Here's what I've learned from being in this thread:
1. I've learned to list people whose information I want to watch as a contact; that way, it's easy to go back and read what they've said or find their new posts.
2. There is a ton of noise in this thread associated with it's speed. By doing (1), I can filter some of that noise out.
3. GrandVol has been giving a pretty nice update daily, and some of the names he mentions might be people to consider following.
4. Don't be too quick to indict someone if their information turns out to be false. Yes, they could have made something up, or they could have passed along faulty information from someone they trusted.
5. I have no idea who I am talking to in here. John Currie or his minions could be posting for all I know.
6. Information can be real or made up. Information can be true or false. Which information do you trust?
After playing this game for a while, I think we've got our guy. As one of the players said, "The people involved in planning this don't miss." I hope he's right.
Gruden to the Hill.
