Official Jon Gruden Thread 35

Big difference between Conspiracy nuts, and true skeptics. I'm pretty sure most of here are true skeptics. I'm not a believer that we land Gruden, and I have stated that doubt numerous times, but I do believe we are going all out to try. Despite what the mouthbreathers say.

Oh I believe we are doing everything we can to land him. And I believe there is genuine interest.

Whether or not certain “insiders” know things I’m less certain of since they have been so vague and now most are refusing to post.

Reread some of the posts. Folks were talking about how Butch was hired knowing he would fail to pave the way for Gruden and the next 30 years

That’s what I’m skeptical of. I believe they can have basic plans that can be altered when things change but a bizarre idea of Jones being a sacrificial lamb to save the next 30 years of football just is too big of a pill to swallow

I don't buy that either.

Full disclosure: I’ve been a “lurker” for 5 years and it wasn’t until last night that I actually created this user account. (Hate me if you may, but I’m just being honest)

Concern: I have followed this thread since it’s inception with much enjoyment, including the not-so-good stuff. This evening there were two (2), essentially simultaneous posts, that lead us all to believe our VFL prayers had been answered (Gruden deal was finalized). When I got back home from dinner, I logged on VN to find it was as if these posts had never been written.

Question: What in the f&$% is the real story?!?! Do we or do we not have the coach Vol Nation needs and wants?!?

Narco_vol, though I've been a member for quite a while, I too have been mostly lurking for the last several years; nor have I been active here long enough to learn whose information to trust and whose information to ignore, though I am beginning to get an idea who those people are. I am not privy to any inside information coming out of the AD. It seems like information passes super-quickly here - sometimes much faster than I can read it. I think the best information today landed about 5:11 PM.

It's almost like a game, and I think that's why this thread is so engaging. Here's what I've learned from being in this thread:

1. I've learned to list people whose information I want to watch as a contact; that way, it's easy to go back and read what they've said or find their new posts.
2. There is a ton of noise in this thread associated with it's speed. By doing (1), I can filter some of that noise out.
3. GrandVol has been giving a pretty nice update daily, and some of the names he mentions might be people to consider following.
4. Don't be too quick to indict someone if their information turns out to be false. Yes, they could have made something up, or they could have passed along faulty information from someone they trusted.
5. I have no idea who I am talking to in here. John Currie or his minions could be posting for all I know.
6. Information can be real or made up. Information can be true or false. Which information do you trust?

After playing this game for a while, I think we've got our guy. As one of the players said, "The people involved in planning this don't miss." I hope he's right.

Gruden to the Hill.

The two incurable cancers are pancreatic and GBM. There are more clinical trials for both of these now more than ever to find a cure. We're believing in a miracle! Thank you brother!

Neuroindocrin is another.

The rate is low for those 3. However, i worked in oncology for 7 years. I saw some amazing cases of survival. Always hope. Always a prayer away.

JAV on TOS said we should know something in the next 12-18 hours. Said a lot of people feel confident about it. Others not so much.

We got to spend a lot of time together the last few weeks, his last words were "Praise the Lord" as he raised his hands, smiled and took a few more ragged breaths and passed away. One of the strongest, bravest and greatest men I'll ever know. I loved him with all my heart, a true father to me.

Because you weren't specific in what you were opposed to. You were just stating there was no 20 or 30 year plan.

I said I didn’t believe there was a 20 or 30 year plan for coaches or a huge conspiracy months ago to fire Butch and hire Gruden. I was told that I was wrong. Now I’m not apparently.

She had brain surgery 3 months ago to remove brain tumor. They got 60% of it. She has been through chemo radiation for the last 30 days. It has kicked her ass and left her devastated and she is ready to give up hope. I know miracles can happen. I love you all. Gruden to the hill soon! We believe!

Praying for you and yours.

No.. your clarified your stance. Sometimes intent doesn't always come through in a text conversation.

Edit - I do think the wheels were put in motion long before the season started. I think that's why Butch wasn't given the extension he requested even after a successful season.

Well that is what I meant. I don’t believe there has been a conspiracy to fire Butch for months. I don’t believe this has been planned for years and I don’t believe that they are planning who the coaches for the team will be for the next 30 years.

That is what I mean and if it didn’t come across that way then apologies.

Yeah, he legit alright

Is it possible that he was being facetious? He spelled Jon as John, I️ am a long time lurker to VN and have known deerpark to be credible in his info.

John Gruden is not coming to the Hill, but Jon Gruden may very well be the next HC.

Thank you DTO. GBM is evil. Memory, sight, senses, and loving personality is attacked relentlessly. But I love her and support her every day! Bring us Gruden!

I mainly stayed in Pinellas county. I'm not a bar or nightclub guy, so we pretty much stayed away from those areas. I love the parks, the beaches, the little family hangouts, and Busch Gardens, Siesta Key, Dunedin, Safety Harbor and beautiful cheap golf courses, catchin a Rays, Bucs, SFU or Lightning game 😎[/QUOTE
Graduated Seminole High School class of 85. Mad beach Treasure Island Redington Beach. Loved it all . Commercial grouper fisherman out of Ruskin for 5 years now a all out Vol after falling in love with a Knoxville girl who is not gonna be around much longer due to an evil sickness GBM. But we believe Gruden to the hill! SOON!

Here's to both of you, and seriously take care of yourself. Recently spent better part of 18 months caring for 3 members of immediate family for various reasons. It is not only the pain of seeing your loved ones down but the grind of the medical centers and disruption all take a toll. Nothing but respect for you my man and definitely sending up prayers. VolNation is with you.
