Boro has been around a long time. Pill isn't an insider as much as a regular poster who happened to interact with a BOT member with loose lips. He seems genuine.

The reality is that many folks on here have roots at UT and as such, many folks have an opportunity to know hear things at various times and from various places. I wouldn't worry much about who is in or out or right or wrong.

There are some interesting people in here and some great conversations. Worth the price of admission at any rate.

I thought Pill seemed genuine but with all the accusations I wasn’t sure.

I know Boro was considered an insider but he was talking abut Butch being fired weeks ago so I was iffy, but hey, perhaps the wheels really were in motion then.

The more I find out the more I learb About the AD the more I realize it’s like politics. They say one thing in public but stuff goes on differently in private and the whole story might not never be known.

Give me Game day over this any day. At least when I’m watching a game I know what’s happening

Hello to the late night Grudenites. I have not been able to stay out of this thread at all the last 3 days. Whenever the announcement happens, pretty sure I will be like a kid on Christmas morning.

Agreed. I am ready for games to be fun again.

I would say that just like the saying goes, there is a bit of truth to every stereotype, the same is true for everything you read here. Things aren't as complex and cunning as people make it out to be here, but big time athletics is a bit vicious and there is so much money involved that there are bound to be shenanigans.

Somebody earlier (credit to whom it belongs) said something like..........Tennessee AD would delay the announcement until after the LSU game in order to give the remaining coaching staff a game with no distractions so that they could put their best foot forward as basically an audition for their next job.

Makes sense.

Then, this morning, Gruden said this: "I am real sensitive to the coaches that are out there coaching so I don’t speculate."

Makes even more sense now.

It reads better than a book - complete with mystery, strange characters, conspiracies, money, and talking beavers. I know the truth is in here - somewhere. A symbolic logician should be able to figure it out with a great degree of certainty.

You would think with them pushing all the OV's back to the Vandy game that they would like to have something announced by then. It was posted earlier that 11/20 might be a date of importance?

I wondered also about the ESPN arrangements (and leaks) but they've got plenty of guys sitting around there who could fill in a MNF or two to get by until the end of the year.

If that’s the case why tell former players? Unless they really were trolling us. Then you have Blackburn on record. Just seems really hard to contain if in fact Gruden actually took the job today.

Im following every hour on the hour just like all of you.

For a few weeks all it was was message board gossip until the last couple days.

Now several legitimate media outlets have acknowledged it and the man himself had the opportunity to shut it down and didnt mot to mention a former athletic director has admitted there'd be interest and former players seem to think he's already accepted the job.

If this is a troll job its the worlds all time best coordinated one between 100s of people all over America.

Will Jon Gruden be the next head coach at UT?

I still doubt it but one thing does look for certain.

We tried like hell.

This will end soon.

Im certain of it.

To be clear, I think by "we" he means UT. Not necessarily fans, the public, etc. It's possible he accepts, but isn't announced for another week or two.
