GoVols247 was told by two sources Thursday that first-year Tennessee athletic John Currie flew to Tampa, Fla., Wednesday night, where Gruden lives and works out of his infamous Fired Football Coaches Association office.

Talk inside the Tennessee athletic department has led some to believe that the Vols have made a pitch to Gruden, the Monday Night Football color analyst and former Super Bowl winning head coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Sources have also said that the Vols have given Gruden a deadline on making a decision. If the decision isn’t in Tennessee’s favor, Currie could turn his attention to Mississippi State’s

I can't for the life of me get these three dots to line up. #1 and #2 work well together, but #3 is all outta whack.

Anyone have a theory on Trey Wallace that fits with the other happenings?

Programs never ever advertise that they were rejected for the job. Letting everyone know you are asking would put them in that position.

I have never stated to know any sources or bring any information here, more of a person who tries to figure something out.... however I may have a tidbit of info here. I was told that this meeting they are referring to, which I was told was actually a few days ago, was on a huge ranch in Tampa of a very powerful UT booster. This came from a family member of that booster.

And it wouldn't be written on an article somewhere in the middle of the paper on a side column. The headline would be huge on the front page in color with a picture of Chucky
