Imo there's just too much smoke coming from actual news outlets instead of just anonymous message board posters. The fact that Hubbs is even acknowledging the Grumors is huge to me. Knowing him if there was nothing there he would flat out shoot it down. Instead he is saying there's a very slim chance. Like someone stated many posts ago, that probably translates to the actual chances being well north of 50%.

Also, many have stated that up until now the reason Gruden hasn't publicly shot down the Grumors has been because there wasn't a job opening. Well, the job is officially open and he has still said nothing to put the fire out.

I could be wrong but believing is much more fun than being pessimistic. It may end up with me being burned in the end but I am a big boy and can handle it.

We don’t need an all Vols staff, we need the best staff possible to help us win and compete.

Tee Martin would be a great addition, POSSIBLY Dale Jones maybe. I know he’s been at Appalachian St. but that doesn’t get me to excited. Would Kacy Rodgers leave NFL to come here? Jay Graham wouldn’t be a bad hire but IMO our current RB coach is the best in the country and should be retained by any new coach.

People just don't want it to mean he's sticking with ESPN. They'll take it out of context and say, he said who knows, it's in his blood, and he has no guaranteed contract

“Well, I don’t know. It’s in your blood,” Gruden told Eisen. “You get some people calling, maybe to see if you’re interested in coaching again, and maybe if you can help recommend a couple guys. I’m pretty much involved with every level of football every day of the week, so I try to help if I can.
“And one of these days, who knows, Rich? One of these days, you never know. But I’m just trying to hang onto the job I have. As you know, I don’t have a guaranteed contract.”

Wow. That's as much of a side step answer as anything...
