The claim in question is that Gruden never shot it down. He was quoted as shooting it down. Quoting Saban when he shot down a job is actually an implicit agreement that Gruden shot it down.

(The claim was never about whether Gruden is coming. You guys seem to be confusing that. For the record, I recognize that Gruden shot down the rumors, yet I'm also extremely hopeful that he becomes the next coach at UT.)

All you have to do is look at the hiring timeline of Saban, Meyer and Harbaugh to realize that no statement, either positive or negative, should be taken seriously until the person is/isn’t standing at the press conference. Heck, we like that Mullen said he liked his job at MSU, and I wouldn’t like it but it wouldn’t surprise me to see him here.

Yet that doesn't change the fact that people are saying, "He'd say he isn't interested if he wasn't interested" when he actually already said he's not interested, is interested in recommending people for the job if asked, and is actively trying to keep his current job.

That statement probably means absolutely nothing, but it has been made. One can't deny that it's been made.

No Ron Swanson didn’t make anything up, another user did all that. And the BabyVol info is different from that info.
