SFD, I don't know that I can satisfactorily nail down the - why?-. It has to do with leverage, and therein lies the why. Ultimately, the fans control the leverage, but with multiple entities involved, each seeking their own motives, this convoluted conundrum may be impossible to solve without more details.

This whole situation has intrigued me, especially Ergen and the VCs. I still believe it's deeper than the VCs appeasing the AA, but how much deeper?

I highly doubt that we will be able to totally get it nailed down before it is actually announced...

But it wouldn't surprise me if Dish Network were to merge with another entity in the near future, and possibly purchase the rights to MNF.

I am sure you are way ahead of me on this. Just trying to put the pieces together myself.
We seem to be sharing in the anguish.

I'm just not sure about those pieces yet. There is much to question. Ladt year there was talk of Verizon and Disney coming together. Perhaps the spectrum ergen purchased would be of value to Disney.

Actually OLEVOLFAN is right. If you go read up and do some research you will see that multiple media outlets are confirming this. Heck even Jayson Swain confirmed Gruden reaching out.
