If you go back a few days ago, you will see where I posted that Gruden had already contacted Tee Martin and Dale Jones about positions. It's there you can see for yourself. I'm not asking anyone to believe me, that's your right. But I am passing on info that I know to be True.
It all went down this past Wed night. Gruden has agreed and signed a document saying he will be the next HC at UT. Yes he can put in writing because CBJ has already signed over to the AD that he is done and that gave them the right to contact whoever and whenever they wanted and allows the to make a deal while Butch is still coaching. Gruden has been in contact with some about positions including Tee M. And Dale Jones. Things are pretty much sealed. And again an announcement is suppose to happen Sunday. Sit back, relax, and enjoy what's about to break loose.
I think he comes not for the money (although that has to be there) but for the passion of coaching. I think he wants to coach again and he has ties/experience on the hill and a roster that is not devoid of talent. I expect he will bring his own coaches if he does come.
Yes, and its been long enough. Kelly v Gruden every year for the SEC East would be epic!
No more UT-UF games featuring fumbling, stumbling, idiotic football on both sides.
Random thought.
I'm Jon Gruden, a well known workaholic. Up at 4am every day, preparing for a job that requires a couple days of actual work. I also devote considerable thought and time to the study of football, which I love.
If I'm Jon Gruden, it pisses me the hell off to see every media talking head in the country saying "why would he leave his easy job with ESPN? He's living the good life!"
These people are calling me LAZY.
These people are saying I'm SOFT.
These people are saying I value comfort and ease over work and grinding and WINNING.
If I'm Jon Gruden, I'm mad.
If I'm Jon Gruden, I decide to do what I love, show these talking heads how wrong they are about me, and start coaching some damn football.
Random thought. TIFWIW.![]()
TIFWIW but I just got home and the very first thing my girlfriend said to me was that she was at the grocery store earlier and a man noticed her UT gear and started talking to her about Gruden and apparently he's pretty close to the program and he told her that we've offered Gruden $10 million for 3 years. Also said that he hasn't accepted the offer yet and he has 1 week to make his decision. Not sure I believe that, but that's what my girlfriend told me he said.
