Why waste money on a firm if the deal was finished?

Just from a leadership point of view to make it look like there hasn't been any deals being discussed with an active coach still leading the program. Just doesn't look good for future coaching candidates... I mean we all know it happens but a search firm would help quiet those "grumors"

Don't get hung up on the failure part. It can also signify something necessary to be successful.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I appreciate your posts.

I can't keep up with everything, don't have twitter, so I miss a lot. And there is no way in Hades I could piece together the things you guys do. It helps me get through all the negativity that finds it's way in here.

With that being said I'm a pretty patient man. I want Gruden named now but if there is a reason for Currie to wait or still some minor negotiations going on I can wait because Gruden will be worth it.

Thanks for keeping it going guys and keeping hanger-ons like me informed.

I think regardless of who MIT is working for, the goal is the same. My only concern is all the talk that even if it's not Gruden it will be a big name coach.

I’m not ready to crown him king of anything but what he’s done has been calculated at times, alcohol infused at times and ruthless most of the time. But every tweet and post he’s made for the past month has had a purpose. I don’t think he’s some kid in his parents basement. And if he is, he’s brilliant and probably making more money than he can count. Lol.

I do not think Florida will pursue Kelly due to the off their field problems this year, and Kelly's baggage from OU.

Just when I was in a good mood I ventured out to the AA forum and saw Kelly is likely to be named HC at Fl.

It was reported by local media guys who cover Florida after McElwain was fired to not expect Strickland to spend a lot of money on a big time hire. They said it wasn't going to happen. Combine that with the SEC rule about having to go through different procedures to hire a HC with a show cause on his resume means Chip is not being offered by Flor or TN. Just not happening.
