Speaking of Mullen - over on the State boards they are laughing at us even having the notion that Mullen would leave for UT. Some specific quotes "They are about to have a losing streak to every SEC team." "Why would he leave a team that would beat the brakes off a team that he would leave to go to?" "It is a lateral move if not worse"

Sadly, he has an argument, doesn't he?:hi::hi:

*BREAKING NEWS* Well guys some huge news is on the horizon. My brother knows a guy on the board that isn’t going to be mentioned that has informed him tonight that 4 hours ago or so we inked a deal with the man himself Jon Gruden to be the next head coach of UT football, a booster at UT paid out all coaching staffs that aren’t sticking around buyouts and Peyton was the one in the meeting room that said Jon Gruden was the future of Tennessee Football and that was said with the backing of many people, the announcement should be leaking on Sunday and along with that he was also informed that with the signing of Jon Gruden, Cade Mays is going to recommit. I️ know this sounds like just another Grumor but it’s from a source I️ trust very much and although nothing isn’t a rumor until it happens this one is one I️ believe whole heartedly. With that being said GO VOLS!!!!! I️ hope this is all real life come Sunday!!!!!

I'm not sure Larry is confirming done deal or not, but he's changed his stance over the past few weeks. And we should all see that as a very positive thing. Larry, like Hubbs, is usually very cautious and conservative. They don't blindly buy into the hype and jump on board, something I admire and think we could all learn from.

But he's changed his tone and stance on all this. You should be very encouraged by that.

The day is coming.

with this Gruden NFL or College stuff, if he's indeed debating the two, IMO he can win much easier in College, NFL is designed to make you a 50/50 team.

Thus people comparing winning percentages.. Insanity. Next time someone tries it, ask them what they think Butch's winning percentage would be in the nfl?

What's so important about Larry? Is he connected to the administration somehow?

He's a lower-tier booster, and one who used to have significant in-roads to the coaching staffs. Was especially well connected in the Fulmer years (like, he and Phil are friends, that level of connection).

He himself would tell you that his connections aren't nearly as good any more. Largely, in his words, because he has pulled back from engagement in frustration that the university leadership hasn't been serious about winning big.

So he's kind of jaded and on the outside now, but still apparently has sources to a degree, when he can be bothered to reach out to them.

I think he'd say I generally got that right, if he were to read this thread.

Gave you a like for being involved with your kids. Bravo Zulu.

However, if I didn't poke fun (no pun intended...okay, maybe a little pun) at you, you would know something would be wrong with me for ignoring such a huge target.

We are good. I just wanted to use the example to let all the fathers know that no matter how ridiculous something seems, if your kids are interested in it, take time to develop and interest in it as well. I know you didn't mean anything by it. Other posters aren't as good natured (looking at Boca). Anymore nowadays, men have forgotten the lost are of being good fathers

My first thought is that honestly, context would show that Larry was simply responding to a hypothetical which assumed Gruden as our coach, not that he "slipped up" and spoke as if it was a done deal.

There's no doubt his tone has changed though, even before this quote.

Sounds good to me, think I'll roll with it. Gruden soon!!

I found myself struggling to stay motivated with the home workouts and I enjoy the traditional lifting in a gym more now. The 30 mins workout would be enticing when Im in a time crunch for sure.

nothing beats an hour long workout at the gym during worktime lunch. Huge stress reliever.
