I guess you chose to ignore where I stated they also rank ahead of Tennessee in overall numbers as well.

Yeah because you didn't say that. Also it isn't true. Go re-read the numbers you found. And even if it was, being on par with Tennessee isn't exactly a ringing endorsement of lots of talent coming out of Mississippi. It doesn't produce a lot.

No, actually I’m not that guy.
I’m simply saying again that Tennessee could do worse and Mullen wouldn’t be worse than Dooley as some of you think.

We didn't suffer through the last 10 years to hire the "well he is better than Dooley and Butch" coach.

That's the one. It's a national treasure in a very unassuming building and place.

I just ordered some bacon and country ham. They don't have country ham in Texas that I've found.

We used to drive by this place on our way to games from Acworth, GA, but never stopped.

I play Pokémon with my kids. Got to find ways to connect with your children. Mine are 13 and 10. They love Pokémon so dad takes an interest. My pops was a s***ty father so in an effort to be a good dad, I try to stay involved in what my boys are doing. I try to be a father, a friend, and a mentor. They know at times dad has to play disciplinarian as well.

Respect.

Speaking of Mullen - over on the State boards they are laughing at us even having the notion that Mullen would leave for UT. Some specific quotes "They are about to have a losing streak to every SEC team." "Why would he leave a team that would beat the brakes off a team that he would leave to go to?" "It is a lateral move if not worse"

Swain just implied that Cade decommitting is part of a bigger plan. Forcing UTs hand.

Cade is a big time recruit, no doubt. But I'm not buying that a 17 year old is putting severe pressure on Currie to move faster.

I believe it potentially has more to do with his re-commitment after JG is hired, to add to the momentum and positive energy when that day comes.

Currie knows that when JG is announced, all the fans, recruits and everyone else will be back. All will be forgiven in an instance.

I would agree with that!

You go re-read because I did say overall in my comment. We get it you want another mediocre coach and we want Gruden.

I think this is what Swain really meant, he just didn't want to imply that out loud. He was just being all smokescreeney! SOON!

Seems to be some angst in the thread this morning. A few folks muddying the waters. Best not to do that. Keep your eye firmly fixed on the prize. Distractions are just distractions; ignore them.

We don't need a coach who is better than some other coach. If that's your argument in favor of person X or person Y, that he'd be a better coach than someone we've already suffered through, then you have a weak argument.

We need a game changer. A guy who has stood on top of the mountain and looked down at all the vanquished beneath his feet. A fellow who has the youth and energy and smarts to get up that mountain again, maybe several times. Who knows what it feels like and is hungry to get the feeling again. And again.

So forget all those other names. This is the Jon Gruden thread.

Eye on the prize.

Go Vols! (and good morning, everyone)

Haha, he's the FF hall monitor.

He directs people to the Gruden thread like a cranky old constipated man yelling at kids taking a shortcut through his back yard, "Get off my lawn, theres the sidewalk, right next to the street, which is exactly where trash like you belongs, in the street, in a can, where you can be the city's problem, since your mother never...", shaking his fist, as the kids continue on their shortcut, waving at at ole man volfannbama.

It's funny cause he claims to never visit here, cause its where the trash belongs, so I decided to come here and talk about him, knowing he probably lurks like everybody.

Funny that someone beat me to it.

That dude is the only person on VN that I have on ignore. He's so negative about everything.

And you continuously miss what im saying.

It’s not the end of the world if Tennessee signs Mullen. The typical Tennessee move is to sign another mid major hopeful and see what happens

And folks continuously want to come into the GRUDEN thread and talk about other coaches to hire. There are threads for that. Not sure what is so hard to comprehend other than just wanting to come in and banter on about some other BS coach "that would be better than Butch"...well no $hit... But please understand, that is not what we want... We want a championship caliber coach, one that has proven he can win a championship(s), regardless if it is at the college or Pro level... Mullen does not fit that description but Gruden does!

Speak for yourself. I really need this wrapped up by my vacation the day after thanksgiving.

I have to question your commitment to Gruden if you're going to just leave the thread for some sort of "vacation" if he hasn't been formally announced. I mean come on, your family is around all the time. Gruden to the Hill will only happen once. :)
