A theory I haven't seen:

We have inherently, systematically linked Bubba and Beav to the securing of Jon Gruden and his services. Their mission and motives are directly in line with Gruden being the end result. Ok?

Beav and Bubba (predominantly) have dropped hints at what their roles are, and how their influence will unilaterally benefit the UTAD, and more succinctly, the football program. What if their cryptic clues and "meetings" were only related to appeasing the AA, thus eliminating Beverly and her utter disdain towards anything involving balls (maybe even men..??... ok, athletics, people)? For instance, Bubba's gif from the other night could mean his "work" (VC, securing funds for the AA, removing Bev's influence, etc.) is done. Not that Gruden is a go, but that he's done his part to ensure UT has no excuse for not getting him.

I believe this is where most have made the mistake about Bubba and Beaver. They have no clue about Gruden and his day-to-day functions, but they know what to do to get a coach of this caliber, especially when administrative hurdles higher than Clingman's Dome exist. I believe they have done this, and the ball is now in Currie's and Gruden's court.

If you interpret “plan beyond the plan” as a head coach in waiting scenario (as opposed to a Plan A/Plan B scenario) then it would make sense.

And if it Truly is a head coach in waiting scenario, then there is no way Grudens contract would be for 7 years. No one is going to sign up to be a head coach in waiting for that long.

Maybe that tag would result in justifying a higher salary

How awesome would it be if Florida announces Chip Kelly as the next head coach and then John Currie says “hold my beer” and brings out Jon Gruden to the podium

Or just walks out to the stage. No podium and mic in hand and says our next coach is Jon Gruden. Grins. Then drops the mic and walks off stage

Yeah, so golf courses, drinks, organization, “yes he’s real”, I just don’t think this cat has the access and/or actual influence he has led on. Thus, information is tainted, and his lust for attention distorts said info. I appreciate keeping up with those that have articulated themselves at length about their connection/access/etc. versus this guy who requests we call him “mystic beaver” and has fun twiddling with the graphics on his twitter page while lurking here for reaction

I don't know if anything else you said is true, just the fact you said "cat":thumbsup:

Dave Clawson was a "HC in waiting". How'd that work out?

As bat sh** crazy as it sounds, I believe knuck.

The one thing that I am having issues with on the VC thing, there has not been a specific word said in all of this - "incubator". That is the word that most VC groups would be investing in as there is the chance of a huge return. A straight investment into a college does nothing for them, they can't sell it, they don't own a piece of it and it's not a viable company.

I interpreted the VC to help sway AA to support such a large investment in athletics as would be required to get Gruden. Also a way to increase the quality of work coming from the university. I viewed it as people who love UT investing in the university because they love the university, not so much to make money. Though I’m sure they will benefit.

What if... We get Gruden, but he only agrees to come for one year. Then the “head coach in waiting” would take over. Possibly a coordinator with no HC experience that would shadow Gruden as an assistant HC for the first year.

No way he’d only come for 1 year. What would be the point of that? I’d say if he comes, he’s here at least 5-7 years. It takes a lil time to get his recruits and implement his system.

We better get Gruden now. We could of got Kelly if we’d fired Butch after Bama like we should of.
