Official Greg Schiano thread

Everyone saying they will quit being Vols fans if they make this hire and they will get rid of their gear and not renew tickets, etc., etc., etc. if you have an XL gear you no longer want, please let me know and I will take it off your hands

And Peyton adviced on hiring Butch Jones...... and you guys loved Jones hiring because Peyton calling for Butch to Tennessee.

So Peyton's judgment on coaches doesn't hold weight for me.

I hope he goes as GM to Cleveland. His evaluations would fit in well there

You guys have one thing to claim and that's child abuse when nothing factual has came out on that???

68-67 overall record
28-48 losing conference record
11-21 losing record in the NFL
Personality has rubbed people wrong way at every level
True or not Penn State hangs heavily around him

Sorry no just no. I'd I want Mullen, Brohm, Norvell, Taggart, or Durkin over Greg.

Taking none of that into account, Schiano is still a giant douchebag. We just got rid of one of those. Just say no to Schiano.

This all day long.

He has been an abrasive pr**k everywhere he has been and not even proven to be that great a coach.

It was the same conference Jones cut his teeth in after all.

Plus I wouldn't put it past Meyer to be talking him up jusy so he doesn't have to fire him over that Iowa loss this week.

If we hire him I'm done. Want no one who was even remotely associated with that Sandusky around UT. He knew about it. I would be 100% out.

Anybody associated with Paterno at Penn State is suspect at this point. We know that Schiano knew what Sandusky had done, and that is enough to disqualify him from any administration with a sense of morality — something that Ohio State has lacked.

Plenty of facts available in a sub .500 coaching record as a head coach.

Barely .500 in the Big Least and was unequivocally awful in Tampa.

Managed to cost Meyer a shot at the playoff with that abysmal showing against Iowa.

Hasn't had a job yet where stories haven't came out on what a jerk he is to work for or with.

Sounds a lot like your describing Nick Saban, Urban Meyer & Bill Belichick....

Greg Schiano, Tom Bradley knew of Jerry Sandusky abuse at Penn State, documents show - The Washington Post

Read the story bro. Of course he will deny it because it would mean the end of his career. Why would Mike McQueary lie about Tom Bradley told him?

Ok I have read it did you?

What did he actually see????

I know most people have thoughts enter their heads.... but did it say he saw something sexual?

Edit: for those lazy it does not say he saw a sexual act being preformed. Just something disturbing. And no reference to what he might have done after....

Nick Saban and Meyer also had clear winning records before getting their shot at the big leagues. Schiano is a loser and has been a loser at every level of coaching as the main man.

That's just wrong. Schiano won big at Rutgers after he got his players in there. Most of his losses happened in first 4 years recruiting his players.

Rutgers had been a 2 win per season team for decades

It doesn't matter. Those losses are on his official win/loss record. As it stands he is one game over .500 as a college HC, that does say winner at all.

🙄
Yea recruiting to a 2 win per season team for decades don't matter to build them up to top 10 team

That's been your default argument for over a week now any time someone puts his record in front of you.

There is nothing on Schianos resume that compares to what any of those guys did early in their careers.

Meyer and Saban had national titles notched on their belts in less time than Schiano had at Rutgers in much tougher conference settings.

Hell Butch Jones had a better resume than Schiano:

50-27 at CMU and Cincy
33-12 conference winner
4 combined conference titles

Heck Butch's worst Cincy squad (2010) curb stomped Schiano 69-38 while Greg was in his 10th year in the program and before you mention LeGrand, I'm sorry, that doesn't excuse a team from going on a 6 game losing streak to end the season.
