Official Greg Schiano thread

And that was after he rebuilt Rutgers

Was that the year that Rutgers had the paralysis from their team leader on the field and the whole team quit playing?

It was devisting to that team. I don't blame them for quitting that season.

I remember Schiano going to stay in the hospital with the kid the rest of that year when he wasn't needed at the football facilities to give that poor kid's mother a break.

It was extremely heartbreaking

Nope. I thought he had done more after hearing some praising him. I may take up photography if that is our ceiling.

Tennessee's ceiling giving Schiano the keys with all the resources Tennessee has would be extremely high.

It's never been confirmed or proven that Schiano actually saw anything. McQueary gave a second hand account of Tom Bradley intimating that a decade prior he had witnessed Schiano saying he witnessed something. That's pretty flimsy evidence to label the guy as an enabler to a child molester. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but basically McQueary's point was that other staff knew of Sandusky's reputation. We don't know what happened beyond hearing Schiano witnessed something. Maybe Schiano did report it to Paterno who swept it under the rug, that's not unrealistic to believe based on how Paterno and others handled things later on. Based on how hard it was (and still is) for people to accept what Sandusky had done and Sandusky was still so popular and relevant at that time, Schiano would have likely been blackballed from his profession. Doesn't mean he shouldn't have reported it or that he did the right thing, but try and think about it from his perspective. Brand new coach, probably somewhere in years 1-3 of his first coaching job, had to accuse the right hand man of the most powerful man in college football of molesting a child...

I don't look at Schiano as a scumbag, if the story is true I think he's a guy who ultimately made the wrong choice (if in fact he did not report), but was in an extremely difficult position. He's a great defensive mind, his teams have always been tough. I think the fact that Bill Belichick really liked drafting Rutgers players during Schiano's tenure speaks to how well those players were coached. We could do worse than Schiano.

I said it earlier. We hired a guy who lost to Dooley. Now some people want to hire a guy who lost to the guy who lost to Dooley. Let me speak more clearly: butch put up 69points on Schiano in league play.

Now I know that in the grand scheme of things it’s a minor point, but For all the criticism Butch (and I am no Lyle defender) took for getting blown out by Dooley- now people want to hire a guy who got blown out by Butch.

Thought Schiano beat Butch 20 to 3 in their only meeting.

Anyway, do not want.

Guy is a proven winner. Took a program that was a 2 win per season team for decades. And took it to the top 10. Won so impressively and so big Rutgers got invited to the Big 10. He got Rutgers to move to the big 10!!!!! That's so impressive!

Got Rutgers ranked into the top 10!

Highlights:
Great recruiting
Teams played tough always
Hard relentless working attitude
Has a drive to be great
In Bill Belichick's inner circle with Saban & Meyer
NFL experience as a Head Coach(successful or not this is impressive to recruits)

What he did at Rutgers was amazing.

Imagine what this guy could do turning around Tennessee into a tough winning team. With the resources & money that Tennessee has.

Has turned down advances from USC & Oregon.
But wants the Tennessee job.

A lot of smoke around him and Tennessee. He is a Sexton client.

This post is a joke, right? If not it should be

No chance. Hyams insiders said he is a bad fit. The Big East or whatever Conf Rutgers used to play by in was awful back then. His record says he is an average coach. Hire Sumlin instead.

My #1 is Les Miles
Being reported Currie is down between Mullen & Schiano

Between those two?

Schiano all day and twice on Sunday.
Because Schiano has coached on Sunday's

And failed badly on Sundays. And was hated by everyone in the NFL, including within his own team. And if you are a large enough a-hole to get cursed out by Peyton Manning then you deserve the scorn that is heaped on you.

And not to mention he is an average college coach.
