CJP's staff keeps recruiting info under wraps. VQ and 247 have trouble getting reliable info from TN coaches. There were even rumors last year that TN coaches leaked wrong info to recruiting guys to throw other teams off when the info was reported. VQ and 247 have to depend on people around the recruit and other teams coaches leaking recruit info.

This is how everyone thought Henry T was between Bama and Washington last year. Is was signing day before the other teams realized it was going to be TN. All this time Washington and Bama were negative recruiting each other instead of TN.

We have also seen where other coaches follow CJPs coat tails and offer under the radar recruits after he does. Another reason TN coaches aren't leaking anything to the local or national recruiting guys.

Georgia is a rival. If you can keep them thinking they're going to land their top TE recruit all the way to signing day...then you do it. It keeps them from having more time to recruit their #2 option and causes them to waste time. Other schools in the SEC do this. Auburn does this kind of stuff all the time.

Every CB for Gilbert was to Bama the day before he announced. Last year until 30 mins before he announced they were all to Bama or wash for Henry. These national guys are right a lot, but none of them know. They’re guessing and most likely guessing based off of info before his trip to UT
