I don't think it's so certain. Durr is a volume shooter that isn't always on. Yes, she's athletic and looks like a great guard, but how exactly well can she consistently shoot? When Louisville visited UCONN last year, they looked completely out classed in the first half, and Durr had basically no contribution. Meanwhile KLS is 6'3'', shoots above 45% from 3 point range, and can shoot extremely well coming off a screen. She even has a post up game. I don't think it's so certain.

I know at least half of the WNBA GM's in the league that have stated Durr will be the best prospect out of this class on assumption . KLS is an oustanding offensive player but its her defense that seperates those two . Durr defends , and yes last year UCONN as a team dominated louisville after the 1st QTR but Louisville actually outscored UCONN the rest of the way . The 1st QTR is what did them in getting down 20 so fast and never recovering.

Iowa State beat Auburn by 3 last night. Middleton was 2 of 7 for 4 points, 4 assists, 2 turnovers and 1 steal in 26 minutes. She had 1 rebound and 0 fouls. How can you have zero fouls if you're playing tough defense. Seems like you would pick up one just by accident.

Welp she's got more responsibility like she asked and yet producing the same amount so far. Hopes for the best in ISU country though for alexa she will get better .

Was there ever a point in that game where you thought Lousiville had a chance? Did they ever even get it under double digits? That's why the last 3 quarters were irrelevant. You show up at tip. UConn and a few others do that better than anyone else in this sport. To your point about defense, I think Lou's defense has come a long way as have her rebounding skills. Lord knows the kid has gotten enough black eyes to prove she can take a charge.

Ill wait a little further into the season to assess her rebounding , i know she cant stay in front of anyone and thats never changed so if it does this year id bow down and applaud . 2 rebounds to start the season isn't something to shout about for a 6"4 player.

South Carolina got another elite recruit in Laeticia Amihere from Canada. They have a shot at a 4th elite commit in Rickea Jackson although a lot of folks say Rutgers.

Looks like remaining 2 in Boston and Jones may wait until next week to commit. Will Uconn hit the last minute jackpot again and sign both?

Amihere, athleticism like Glory Johnson! Nice pickup, the second best player in the class behind Horston to me.

She definitively has problems sitting in a stance and a part of that is simply her gate and breaking her foot her freshman year probably didn't help that, however as I said she's gotten better as one should from freshman to senior year. She's 6'3" and rebounding is more than about height it's also about effort and which offense UConn is in.

Unlike Tennessee who's philosophy over the years has been "everyone crash the boards and then we walk the ball up the court" (before anyone jumps down my throat, not bashing the style just noting the difference as is preference in the SEC overall). Depending on the line up, they use Lou for either the leak out or the trail 3. If UConn is running she is generally the leak so it's unlikely she's going to be in rebounding position to begin with.

What the staff said they have worked with her on over the years is when they are not running and purposely employing a half court offense then she must crash the board while on defense because no leak or trail is needed. My point was she has improved which is based on her stats for her 3 full years in college not her stats from her 1 game this season.

Im honestly sick of hearing about KLS's broken foot almost 4 years ago playing a part of her defense when its brought up . It doesnt seem to be an issue on offense but its a bigger deal when her obvious deficiency gets discussed. Durr will be chosen before KLS and people will be surprised to see others go before KLS as well . WNBA personnel and GM's are well aware of who can contribute right away and which players will be "Specialist" . KLS obviously will be a 3pt Specialist and thats all .

Stanford released a nice piece on their website about the new recruits. I wonder if this means they anticipate not landing Haley Jones. I am really hoping that Uconn does not pull it off again and land 2 prize recruits last minute like last year.
Speculation has them being a lock for Boston and 50-50 with Jones.

LOL. Why are you so hype? Just trying to have a friendly conversation. Sorry that you're sick about hearing about someones injury. The fact of the matter is she generally isn't sliding laterally on offense. That is what you need to be able to do to not get blown by. That's like saying Russell's feet didn't affect her game or a kid who's had multiple knee surgeries won't affect theirs. Your feet and what you are able to do with them matter more on defense, any coach will tell you that. When you see someone get blown by look at their feet, they are generally pointing in instead of out. Part of that is poor mechanics and the other part is whether they even can rotate their feet that way (**Breanna Stewart physically couldn't, she's pigeon toed badly but her length and athleticism helped her quite a bit.) I wouldn't say KLS has that kind of athleticism.

I wasn't arguing she would be chosen first. I was arguing she has gotten better. I wouldn't be surprised to see Durr go first at all. You can marginalize someones skillset how you see fit. However, I think her passing, screening, and knowledge of how to play in an offense that's more predicated on team will help her. Also if she's being face guarded she's proved she can take you on the block or run the pick and roll to use her height. The kid has more than a 3 point shot. Anyway, I digress. Durr is a great offensive player as well, her strengths lie more with what she can do with the ball in her hands. Walz loves those types of kids a la Shoni Schimmel, the question is on offense when she doesn't have the ball in her hands how can she help you? Durr success just like any other draft pick hinges on the coach that picks her knowing her skillset and making sure she can have the ball.

Mississippi State and S.C. both letting inferior teams play with them tonight. And if you want to feel better about our turnovers watch either of those games. S.C. had 27 tonight and State has 12 in the first half.

Didn't see this coming - R. Jackson will announce tomorrow - it's down between South Carolina and Miss. St. She eliminated Rutgers.

MSST won 104-54, and they did it with McCowan sitting on the bench for the last 15 min of the game. They scored 69 pts in the 2nd half, and actually played better with Teaira and Espinoza Hunter on the bench. Howard had a monster game, They shot 49% from the floor, doubled up on rebounding 64-32, and had five players in double digits. The freshman Jessika Carter with 10 pts 8 rbds And 4 blocks. She's gonna be a good one.

They look every bit as balanced as they did last year, only now they have more size, rebounding and depth. They are gonna be very tough to beat.

Not impressed with SC. Despite all of their guard depth, they can't shoot. That 3rd quarter was one of the worst displays of basketball at a supposedly high level I've ever seen. They're lucky to win, and would have lost to a more competent team.

Whichever team she picks will make them a championship caliber team. The SEC will be very strong next season. On paper, Tennessee, SC and MSST all look to be Final Four ready teams.
