I got on for a little bit yesterday. My home system has a new planet. It's a hot world with a bunch of weird hybrid turtle species on it. The new variety is fun. Worlds with bases only got minor tweaks.
My PS4 was struggling with it last night. Hopefully they'll patch it. Updates always take a couple weeks to get fully implemented. This new update is very interesting. I would love to go explore some of these new towers. I have noticed that this game has gotten more harsh on the CPU or GPU. Was hitting 60 FPS max earlier before all of these updates came about. Now I have lag issues and usually sit around 45 FPS.
Between those two and that new Star Wars Squadron game that's coming out, I expect to rack to rack up a lot of flight time as well. I've been on a break from NMS. Once I got my fleet built up I got kind of bogged down in upkeep. But this update seems to be pulling me back in.That's where my bud and I want to get to. And with Elite Dangerous' next update...we may be exploring space a lot more over the next year.

Not that I'm aware of, you can up the storage capacity now and change the color scheme. There are other upgrades available as well. But I think class is still static. I just farmed a S class. You can do it in a sitting or two.I'm not even paying attention to fleets or my carrier right now. Is it possible to upgrade the class of your carrier or is that still static?

I'm starting to overload my main one. It got worse when I started planting start bulbs outside and went a little crazy with it. It's the worst place for low frame rate, in my system.Gonna need to do that. Man there is so much new. And I have so many storage boxes and plant growing chambers at my base.

Your ahead of me there. I'm still not to building those myself. I got a buddy who's been playing since launch and has 1000s of them stock piled. He's been financing me in return for access to all the mines I've been setting up. I think he just likes having someone to play with. I'm thinking about doing the living ship next. That may be the reason for me as well. I built a stasis device farm and so naturally I have about 100+ star brambles outside.
I was thinking about trying this again, haven’t played since launch week, but you two are freaking me out lol. Did this game get crazy complicated since I last tried it? I thought you just mined minerals to get a bigger ship and gave inappropriate names to new planets. That may be the reason for me as well. It's still the same basic game, but they've added a lot to it. Multiplayer, new kinds of ships and ground craft, capital ships, new missions, weekly missions, a cooking system, more variety in procedural generation, and probably a lot I'm taking for granted as I just started playing it this year. They've been doing multiple updates a year, every year since launch. I know they've streamlined the early game and expanded the main quest. But I never played the original setup. So I can't say how different it is.I was thinking about trying this again, haven’t played since launch week, but you two are freaking me out lol. You can gain health from it. But the best reason to do it is to sell on the anomaly for nanites.I did. Played Day 1, in fact. Man that was a let down. So many people were excited about the game and it turns out to be extremely boring. Compared to what it is now it was pretty bare bones, IMO. It was literally all about either exploration (try to get all of the fauna scanned in a planet) or get to the center of the universe. And that was it. That's why I put it down for so long. I heard about the updates, but couldn't find the energy to bring me back when I had other games, and Elite Dangerous for a space sim, to play. Now, it's actually something.
Also, what's this cooking part of the game? Is there a reason to do it?
They also added "living" ships which I think you obtain one at the end of a mission string. Could be wrong on that. Another thing they added are derelict ships where you and friends can explore abandoned freighters (or you can do it alone). A buddy of mine and I just did one tonight. Pretty neat. Yesterday's update added huge buildings on some planets with, I think, the same premise.
It is, you need to get a void egg from the anomaly. It will lead you on several missions to get things that will then need to grow for like 24 hours. You will then move to the next one. It takes about a week to do everything from what I understand. It's something I'll probably start soon.
I try to have twice as much power output from solar as is being pulled. I setup 1 battery for every 2 solar panels I build. That formula generally gives me enough power to charge my batteries and get through the night on stored energy without having to resort to the biofuel reactor. These days I try to only setup bases in locations where I can use electromagnetic power. But my main base and my phosphorus mine still run on solar.Cool. I will check this out today. Bought the blueprints for solar panels and batteries today to get the farm back up and running. Who knows how much power I'm going to need lol.

Once you have a survery device for your analysis visor, you can find "hotspots" for power or mineral and gas mining. Once you find a power hotspot, you can build electromagnetic generators on it and they will power anything in that base. As you need more power you just build more generators. Here is a link. What is this electromagnetic power that you speak of?
And what do you use your phosphorus mine for?
