Nike Jersey's leaked

My only qualm is the checkerboard patterns. Ok... And the supposed "mountains" on the alternate helmet which I don't see. Aside from those atrocious additions I like the uniforms. I just think the checkerboard rounds them down to a WalMart-esque wannabe uniform and we are better than that. Stick that junk on a NASCAR pit crew, not a football team.

I can't believe I'm saying it but I kind of like it. I have been an Adidas homer since I was a kid, but sometimes change is a good thing.

Now the big question for me is will Nike beefy Tee Shirts hold up as well as Adidas. I have have some of my Adidas Tees for over a decade now

NVM. Link isn't working but I agree with the checkerboard on the pants and alterante helmet. Looks very odd.

The primary thing I ever wanted from any manufacturing deal was for Tennessee to be treated like a top tier customer. I think we've gotten that.

I also want to see the school color accurately represented in the gear provided for our players. From what I've seen, that looks good as well.

Strangely, I end up liking the checkerboard much more on the basketball uniforms than for football. I wonder what it would look like if we went Croatia-style and did the entire hoops uniform with the checkerboard.

As for football, the look has changed over the years. My favorite Tennessee jersey is one I never saw them play in: the jerseys of the Dickey/early Battle era with the white trim on the sleeves

Classic and beautiful. But they got rid of it. Things change.

We are a tradition-rich program with success that only a small amount of peers can exceed or match. But we must recruit regionally and nationally to be able to compete. To do that, every opportunity to promote Tennessee as a viable option for talented kids from Connecticut to California and all points in between must be taken. Rolling out fresh variations of our look on a regular basis can and should be a part of that promotion process.

What Alabama or USC or Ohio State does or does not do with their uniforms does not matter. We are Tennessee and from time to time we have altered our look to fit in with a new equipment provider, technological evolution or changes in taste. This is merely the latest variant of an old theme at our school.

I agree totally. We are TN and the Orange and White doesn't need any Gimmik BS. Our Uniforms are amng the easiest recognizable in ALL of football.

Dont fix what ain't broke.

I have some Nike coaching polos from my first year of teaching that have held up very well.

The dri-fit shirts don't seem to hold up as well in comparison.

I honestly love the mountains on the grey helmet so much that I wish they'd put them subtlety underneath the clear coat of our white helmets. I think it represents our heritage and culture more than anything else ever has. Seriously....it's Rocky Top.

Thanks for the info. I'm a big and tall man and two things I simply LOVED about Adidas Tees were the price and longevity.

If that's not just lighting, it's awesome.

And, to all you freaks moaning and groaning: read up on the response and hype from recruits.

You can count me in the "I want to win and win big, and I realize that some crap matters to 18 year old kids that seems stupid to us grown folk, so I'll shut up and let the multi-billion dollar company that owns the contemporary sporting industry handle this" crowd.

Then let's put a big "SEE ROCK CITY" decal on there while we're at it.

It just looks like a typical bad reflection on a shiny surface to me. Has this been confirmed by any "insiders"? If true then that's just as bad, if not worse than the checkerboard.

The whitish part of the helmet that makes the top of the mountain actually looks like a reflection of a umbrella / soft box flash or lighting to me..

I guess you watch games on your ole nonhd tube TV.
Do you still have to turn the rotary dial?
All things change, modernize, to suit new demands.
Recognize that your tastes are likely no longer mainstream and may be outdated... Like a leisure suit!

What kills me is that after all the questionable/terrible decisions and moves by the athletic department in the past decade, the Nike deal is an absolutely UNDENIABLE win for UT Sports. Tomorrow is a day for celebration.
