I live in Cookeville and would be sorely disappointed for Tn Tech to make that decision. My guess is Tenn Tech. Free meal plan and dorm
You can think what you will of Prime, but in reality he's a good person. And he doesn't get played a fool. And he would not marry up well with the Niso scenario and his pops.No one it appears. Coach prime responded to Richard west parody account thinking it was legit with: No thank you. We good. Thank God.
I'm glad to hear Tech is doing all that! Wish my alma mater (UT Martin) would do the same, instead they seem content to continue leaning into the "small town charm/suitcase college" aestheticI live in Cookeville and would be sorely disappointed for Tn Tech to make that decision.
On the bright side, he'd go from Neyland to half a stadium where where fans share same side. Under major rebuild/rennovation for next few years. Tear down and rebuild one side at a time. One side is already leveld getting all hte new infrastructure installed.
Tech has been going through major new builds and rennovations the last 7 plus years. The overall campus facilites, visual appeal, and academic and sports buildings are very impressive. Lots of new greenspace. No more asphalt campus. It is becoming a premier FCS campus to go with their academic prowess. Nico would tarnish everything they have worked toward.
The biggest mistake Nico and his camp made was no-call/no-showing on Friday. That decision will haunt him/them for the rest of his playing days. You can think what you will of Prime, but in reality he's a good person. And he doesn't get played a fool. Technically, the plane landing would be spot on, as the closest landing strip is a shared small regional airport half way to Sparta. We should all give money to the Tennessee Tech NIL fund, if they even have one, so they can make a run at him. That’d be just too great. He could have Daricks old locker. Team Nico could all go to his games in Cookeville. The chartered plane could land in some cow field.

It's still a suitcase college as you say. But President Oldham has tapped into a serious supply of money and the campus is not even recognizeable at this point. It's been a huge ongoing upgrade all over campus. Several new academic building. Exisiting rennovations, and sports upgrades. Football improved drastically last year with the new coach that is looking like a good hire for that school. Baseball coach that took them to the Supers at Texas few years ago came back last year after washing out at Rice and in his 2nd year back has them back atop the conference. Was already here for a long time. Bad decision to try and get greener pastures. Recruiting to and coaching Tech was his sweet spot.I'm glad to hear Tech is doing all that! I'm a GA native (dad worked for UGA Experiment Stations so born and raised about an hour from Athens), but Jackson County (Cummins Falls) was dads home. So, I've seen the growth of Cookeville since I was a kid. That was the largest astro turf surface in the country when it went in. Has since been upgraded to the high end "loose" turf type but still same coverage area. But, the rest of campus was always blah. Even though the old Georgian architecture was present. And has been maintained throughout hte upgrades. I did my MBA at Tech '89. They moved back to falls when he retired. We moved up in 2014 to help out when they were aging. Yes, the transformation has been very impressive and shows no signs of winding down anytime soon. Bout time they shed all the asphalt and started matching the asthetics to the academic reputation. For engineering, sciences, or nursing it's the best choice in the south. And if you do your work, over 60% I think graduate with very little to no student debt. Anyone looking for a good school, a reputable degree at a reasonable expense, or a place to just be a student athlete should have TnTech on their radar.1st job I ever had that took out tax's was in 1974-1975 when they up fitted the stadium and installed the AstroTurf, 1st of it's kind Id ever seen.
I go home a couple times a year and am always impressed with two things.....
One, the transformation of the University grounds and overall "look". I like it a lot.
Second, I can't believe that golden eagle hasn't flown away yet, lol.
Thanks for the stroll down memory lane sir. I salute you
I think they’ve already got more representation now. They will never admit but they’re realizing they screwed this situation up.I'd like to know what's going through their minds today. They obviously aren't getting a big payday and doesn't look like they will be going to a P4 school. Makes you wonder if they were even aware they couldn't go to an SEC school. This is the ultimate FAFO for his dad. If I was Nico I'd be firing dad and the agent, go light it up at Tulane or similar school in hopes of going somewhere bigger in '26. The only way to salvage the situation.
Nico would be well served to publically own up to a mistake he was hood winked on. Then tell pops and agent to pound dirt, grow up, and latch on to some better mentors. You wanna repair your image and get back in the game...be a man. If living under Nics rule is all the rumors say, the sooner him and his brother separate his dad from their careers the better off they'll both be. He needs to tell mom & dad to go back to work. Until he carves his dad out of this part of his life and makes his own decisions, he will never fully recover from this clown show.I think they’ve already got more representation now. I’m thinking we have said similar to him. Hasn’t happened yet, doubt it ever does.Nico would be well served to publically own up to a mistake he was hood winked on.
