Nico Iamaleava predicted to play for Bill Belichick at North Carolina

Somebody will sign him.
Of course they will, but I would bet a dollar to a donut it won't be more than what his package was at UT, and quite likely a good bit less. This whole episode has severely impacted his value, not necessarily because of Nico and his talent, but because of the now exposed baggage that comes with him. The trust factor has been impacted greatly, imo. And people don't want to do business with people they feel like they can't trust.

I agree. Any school signing him has to know that they are only renting him for a season and to justify paying him what he's asking would be a school who thinks Nico is the missing piece to them winning the Natty. I don't know of a team out there where Nico would be the difference in winning a NC or not but I could see a few thinking he's worth a mil to get a decent bowl game.

Multiple sources have told ESPN that Iamaleava's camp is seeking much more through the portal than the $4 million they hoped to earn with the Vols this year. The read after talking to sources, however, is that he's unlikely to find a situation that gets him to that number.

"I think he has zero market," said a general manager at a Power 4 school. "It will be an interesting test of how smart and disciplined colleges are in looking at him."

IF....that's true, it shows how they really don't understand 1) the severity of what has happened and 2) how the market is reflecting that and how much of a hit Team Nico's integrity took. I really don't think they understand how this looks. No self awareness is one of the worst traits.

They likely understand that. They’re hoping that because of their ridiculous asking price, teams will possibly meet them halfway or somewhere around what we were giving him. But I don’t think any team would be willing to give him what we were

I think they are in denial.

Nico would be well served to publically own up to a mistake he was hood winked on. Then tell pops and agent to pound dirt, grow up, and latch on to some better mentors. You wanna repair your image and get back in the game...be a man. If living under Nics rule is all the rumors say, the sooner him and his brother separate his dad from their careers the better off they'll both be. He needs to tell mom & dad to go back to work. Until he carves his dad out of this part of his life and makes his own decisions, he will never fully recover from this clown show.
This. In a couple of years he'll be negotiating with and probably playing for an NFL team.

The NFL GMs and owners are not fond of being jerked around, I'm sure, by some "look, I'm an agent" helicopter Dad. "Here's your deal rook. You don't like it? Don't sign it. You were going to be QB3 anyway until we could move you to another team for a CB we need. Nice to meet you, though, my secretary has your release forms ready in the outer office."

Pro locker rooms are supposedly notoriously brutal on rookies. If he's still being led around holding Daddy's hand, he's going to hear it every day.

Know when to walk away and know when to run.
You never count your money when you’re sittin’ at the table.
There’ll be time enough for counting when the dealings done.”

Do UCLA fans get excited about anything? Went to the UCLA-TN game years ago out there. Let’s just say it was a very laid back crowd.

Exactly. Even USC probably has more fans outside of Southern California than actually in the LA area. California is not exactly college football heaven. If Nico lands there he will likely see a major change in how he is treated.

All the defenders of Nico saying you can’t blame him for taking a better deal. Well, tell me we’re he currently has a better deal. He doesn’t and he likely won’t. His agent and Dad went to far looking and the Nico got cocky and no showed practice. He is going to play in a weaker conference probably for less money, no big time school is going to give him any more than he made here. Some mid tier school might pay him a tad more just where he can save face but that is very iffy. If he doesn’t drastically improve his pro rookie contract is going to serve him humble pie! GBO

I mean what do you even say? They are delusional if they think they're gonna even sniff that kind of money.
