The heart was ripped out of Bama’s defense this year that is for sure. I also think they lacked the depth that they’re accustom to, across the board, which should concern them.Bama had a beat up D and played sloppy down the stretch which is very uncharacteristic of that team. I'm not seeing anyone catching up so to say. Bama got beat up and played young guys late. I won't believe they are down until they lose two again next year and maybe even the year after.
Tua doesn't even know if he can ever play again. He won't be in this draft class IMO. He will come back and rehab and try to show he can play. He's not even going to be rehabbed for the combine I am thinking. Their D will be much improved with some injured guys coming back. They won't make the stupid mistakes they did toward the end of the season. I think Bama will be Bama next year.REALLY? They didn't beat LSU with Tua, and we all know Tua is going to be a top 15 DC. He is gone.

I am feeling this already.....just a feeling though. I think AU is a probable although they played a crappy game against them. I am looking forward to 2020 also! You may be right. But it's a long time until the draft. I sincerely hope Tua is going to fully recover; he is what College athletics Should be about. Regardless, bama will not go undefeated next year. Hail, UT might get them in KTown. Then theres Auburn with Nix more experienced, LSU (who plays QB? Bet they get a 5 Star or Transfer) A&M will be better too. Ole Miss has a ton of young talent (Esp QB) and Kiffin is known for getting teams to play over their heads. We shall see. Gonna be an intriguing 2020.

Why not hand out a 4 year and the way to break it by the student is to go to the NFL?I'm not crazy about the transfer portal, and I really think athletic scholarships should be four years ... if the guy leaves early for the NFL, too bad, the scholarship can't be refilled or reused. However, if the transfer portal puts an end to the rich teams constantly getting richer by stocking the team with talented players who ride the bench and are kept out of the hands of the competition, then perhaps it's a good thing. Four year scholarships that can't be reused or refilled might lead coaches to avoid talented players who only use the educational opportunity as a path to the NFL or NBA and maybe force the NFL and NBA to take care of their own problem by creating farm teams.
But then I'm an old guy (a UT BS and MS engineering grad) who sees universities as educational institutions and believes in student athletes and not universities as farm teams for professional sports. Sure athletics brings in lots of revenue for some universities, but most of it simply goes into running the athletic programs ... for most colleges it's not a break even proposition.
Reality is that college football is the minor league for professional football and it is a business. The trade off is that it does fund a lot of what universities do, not just the major ones. Smaller schools get a piece too.I'm not crazy about the transfer portal, and I really think athletic scholarships should be four years ... if the guy leaves early for the NFL, too bad, the scholarship can't be refilled or reused. Nick, Bill nor any head coach has the right to stand in any employee's way to better themselves with another opportunity. That kind of crap ended centuries ago.......
I ve ran a business most of my life and Ive had employees come and go (very few good ones, but a few) and I never begrudged anyone for making an upward move or the company who offered them a better opportunity. My only expection has been the ole Lombardi rule "what you see here, what you hear here, stays here when you leave here". Ive had a couple violate that and they paid the price.
