This article is dumb. I suppose he could also be talking about Brian Niedermeyer (who is incredible and probably more a Pruitt guy than a Saban guy).

Don't believe the VOLs are atop the throne yet, but I enjoy watching these two weep crocodile tears this post-season.

It is no surprise that Saban has this attitude about it. He's in the perfect place. He thinks you should run your organization like a criminal organization and that everyone should live by that code. No wonder he landed in Tuscaloosa..... No, Nicky-poo, everyone shouldn't just fall in line.

Maybe Saban would rather trade the success he's had with great assistants working for him for sucking and not winning.

This is what happens when you win. If you want to keep people on your staff, pay them more.

Besides; who died and made you boss?

On one hand, I can agree with you. On the other, it really is remarkable how he turns his staff over, including coordinators every year (or two) and how he continues to win at the highest level year after year. Most people talk about staffs and program success in the context of continuity and time to jell and familiarity etc, etc. Yet, none of that ever seems to apply to Saban.....doesn’t matter who his staff is comprised of, he’s always winning 10+ games and competing for a national title.

Dooley hired Sal away from Saban, but it was a promotion. Some of Pru's staff prolly worked there, but he has known those guys for years and also from other places, like Hoover.

When SABAN was hired as HC for BAMA, he did not have a buy out as part of his contract. FACT. He said if he wasn't up to Bama's standards, they should be able to fire him. He has one now, but not before he went to work, and let the work speak for itself. I admire him for this. It is really sad, other coaches don't have the same confidence in their skills. When talking fools state we'd never get a good coach without a huge buyout, they are just making noise.
When we've had big buyouts (dooley and boy butch come to mind) it sure as hell didn't get us a good coach. Like him or hate him-he was a stand-up guy when he took over the Bama program.

Let me make sure I understand this right, he doesn't take any coaches from Belichick, and Belichick doesn't take coaches from him, but they will take them from other teams because there no friendship there? How many coaches has Saban ran off? He screams..........at his players, coaches and gets on HBO and whines about previous coaches not respecting the "unwritten rule"..........this is the first time I really that I realized Saban is a whinner...........get over yourself Nicky............you are entitled to nothing, if you can't take the heat.........get out of the kitchen and go back to the Group of 5 FNA BIG10

It's not like they're suddenly losing their roster of future NFL players , but there's some chinks in their armor that haven't been there for a long time.

As much as I hate to agree with the Paper Tiger, he speaks the truth here. I fully expect Tua to be back if he can. His draft stock right now is in the toilet and I think he needs to show the NFL that he can play a full season.

Bama had a beat up D and played sloppy down the stretch which is very uncharacteristic of that team. I'm not seeing anyone catching up so to say. Bama got beat up and played young guys late. I won't believe they are down until they lose two again next year and maybe even the year after.
