When SABAN was hired as HC for BAMA, he did not have a buy out as part of his contract. FACT. He said if he wasn't up to Bama's standards, they should be able to fire him. He has one now, but not before he went to work, and let the work speak for itself. I admire him for this. It is really sad, other coaches don't have the same confidence in their skills. When talking fools state we'd never get a good coach without a huge buyout, they are just making noise.
When we've had big buyouts (dooley and boy butch come to mind) it sure as hell didn't get us a good coach. Like him or hate him-he was a stand-up guy when he took over the Bama program.
