Hasn’t made a peep in 3 hours which, if it remains that way, will definitely make up for it’s unsubtle size. I think it’s a good looking machine, except every time I look at it I can’t help seeing Marie’s sculpture from Everybody Loves Raymond.I think the ps5 looks even bigger in person. It really is ginormous.
Mine makes a slight high pitched hum. The Series X doesn’t make a peep. I had to check to make sure it was still powered on and I wasn’t imagining playing.Hasn’t made a peep in 3 hours which, if it remains that way, will definitely make up for it’s unsubtle size. I put my XSX on my computer desk last night so I could get some things installed while I worked on my PC for a few hours and I likewise had to look up every half hour and check to see if the little logo was still lit up, and that was 2 feet from my face lol. That’s odd about your PS5 humming though. Got anything in the disc drive or have you been gaming non-stop for a while?Mine makes a slight high pitched hum. The Series X doesn’t make a peep. Nope don’t have anything in it and it’s been doing it since initial power up. It’s not loud, it’s just loud enough for me to notice. Still much better than my Pro that sounded like a jet taking off.I put my XSX on my computer desk last night so I could get some things installed while I worked on my PC for a few hours and I likewise had to look up every half hour and check to see if the little logo was still lit up, and that was 2 feet from my face lol. PS5 console looks stupid to me. Wish they had gone a different direction than that strange looking thing. I think the XBOX looks better.
My amazon PS5 is out for delivery. The Walmart unit is with Fed Ex being delivered tomorrow.
I might be the only person on the face of the Earth that really doesnt think about what the consoles look like. Might be because they get hidden behind my tv the way I have it setup. I will say that the XSX was much better in the boxing presentation than the PS5 was. With the PS5 I felt like I was opening up a box for a console. With the XSX, I felt like maybe I was opening the meaning of life.I like the PS5 design, looks futuristic. XBOX just looks like a mini PC tower lol. But I can appreciate people that like more some designs.

Not sure yet, they both have positives over the other....wouldnt really say I have found a negative yet. Probably the PS5 right at the moment as the dualsense is just amazing. Gonna see how that controller feels with a game that isnt designed to showcase it like Astro. Will play COD Cold War tonight on PS5 as that is where most of my peeps play. I will say that I played Destiny 2 on both consoles and both felt sooooo much better than last gen (PC has had this since day one). I know they are doing an optimization patch come second week of December, but I can tell a great difference with the resolution and especially the FPS.Which one do you like better so far?
The design of the ps5 may look cool but it's so massive it looks out of place no matter where you put it. While the ps5 looks bigger in person, I thought the XSX looked a bit smaller in person than I anticipated.I've yet to order one of either (I have amazon gift cards, trying to order through amazon, so it'll be a while), but I am considering the Xbox. The ONLY things that make me think about the PS5 is the design (I like it), and the haptic feedback controllers. However, I hate that there's not expandable storage (yet), and I dislike that the backwards compatibility wouldn't be there. Y'alls posts are really helpful. Jealous of you all who got in in time to get one!

The haptic triggers are really cool, and I could see that being enjoyable addition for some games, but for the most part, I think most people end up turning that feature off. I thought it would be cool to have different haptics for every gun in call of duty. But while that might be a decent addition to the campaign I suppose, it just gets in the way in multiplayer. Curious if Bearcat agrees.
The PS5 interface is new and looks flashy. I like it because it's different and new. It's dark and modern. But I'm not sure it's quite as intuitive as the old software was, at least not yet. Maybe that's a premature statement after one day.
This is a fairly good summary of the pros and cons of each.
