Well if the rumors are true about it must being connected to the internet all the time and shutting out used games is true, I'll not be getting one.

Wait... they'd lose most of their customers if you're not allowed to play used games on other systems. The would be a product killer imo. And what if you took a game over to a friends to play? Gotta bring your harddrive too?

I'm with ya. I've always been an Xbox guy even though I have PS 1, 2, and 3. If true though, there will be no new xbox in my household.

I feel like there is no way that rumor could possibly be true. Unless Sony does it too, Microsoft is brain damaged not to think they'll be out of business because everyone will by a playstation instead. That's exactly what would happen.

Microsoft's creative has seemed a little tone-deaf at times, to say the least...

I have a sneaking suspicion that Sony will dominate the next gen. I don't have any consoles at the moment, but if I get back into one, it's shaping up to be Sony all the way.

I'm in the same boat. There's a very small chance of me getting the next xbox because of Live not being free. As a college student, I don't want to spend the money to play online even though it seems cheap.

I don't play enough to warrant the cost of live when there is a free alternative. I want to be able to play online when I find the time, and that's just not enough for $50-60 /year

I like my 360 tons better than my PS3, but having to pay to play online is very annoying, and could be a deal breaker in the future. I'm interested to see the comparisons between the PS4 and the Infinity at conventions.

Right now live is miles better than PSN. I have no problem paying 18 cents a day for a much better service.

live is in no way "miles" better. if party chat and cross game is worth the $.18 per day, by all means pay it. personally, it's not to me. i do pick up a 3 month code from time to time on ebay though.

i have a ps3 and 360 now, but there is no way i would buy the new xbox if what they say about the used games and constant internet connection is true. not at launch anyway.

I get ESPN3 as well PSN doesn't have that for free last I checked. I would imagine both consoles are going no used games if it is true. The fact they don't have a party system is worth it to me. An not once have it failed to connect in almost 5 years, or has it been down. So I think 18 cents a day is worth all that

Even if it is, $60 a year for a student who won't use it all that often is not worth it to me.

As somebody with a job, easy choice to fork over a little cash and get a better service. But without a job and money being tight, I want to stick to a free service if it's good enough for my needs. Besides that $60 could go to buying a game, which is a big incentive to me

That's kind of what a Chromebook is. Although it does have some (though slight) functionality while offline.

Ahhhh. Got it. I'm a fan of both systems but I find XBL a better fit for me and don't mind the money. Plus, it's the only way I can get espn 3 do that's worth it for replays and some out if market games.

Did you not read my post? Yes I CAN pay for it, but with no current income, I do not WISH/WANT to pay for it (especially when PSN is a free alternative). I have other expenses I can use $60 on in a year (mainly food). And even if I didn't, I could use that money to buy a game like I previously stated.

It's not that hard to understand sir.

For me it's not the amount of money, it's the principle. The fact that MS charges you to play online, watch Netflix, etc when you can do it for free on PS3 and PC is ridiculous. Would you just hand 5.00 over to somebody every month unjustifiably? I mean, it's only 5.00 right? It's not that much out of your pocket right?

Plus the whole idea that Live is miles better than PSN is ridiculous. It has a couple of advantages, yes. But to say it's miles better is sensationalizing it.
