I don't have any consoles at the moment, but if I get back into one, it's shaping up to be Sony all the way.
I switched from PS2 to 360. Right now I think I'm getting a PS4
Right now live is miles better than PSN. I have no problem paying 18 cents a day for a much better service.
Would you purchase a desktop computer that only works when online?
Even if it is, $60 a year for a student who won't use it all that often is not worth it to me.
As somebody with a job, easy choice to fork over a little cash and get a better service. But without a job and money being tight, I want to stick to a free service if it's good enough for my needs. Besides that $60 could go to buying a game, which is a big incentive to me
That's kind of what a Chromebook is. Although it does have some (though slight) functionality while offline.
The post I quoted was lamenting the notion that $60/year is a lot of money to some people. Perhaps it is to some, but to an American college student, $5/month doesn't even qualify as beer money.
