Don't really care if it has to be online to function. I can't recall the last time I didn't get online with my Xbox to play any game.

I agree that its a little blown out of proportion. That said, Forza might be the only saving grace for MS for me this time around.

Only you can still play your 360 if your internet goes down. That won't be the case with the new system. Just sayin'.

There are a lot of people out there who will want to play and may not have stable internet connections available.

Microsoft is coming across as incredibly arrogant... The same thought process is evident in their deployment of Windows 8.

They're getting their asses kicked in that arena, they're going to get their asses kicked by Sony with next-gen consoles, and rightfully so.

This exactly. When my Internet is shotty (happens often actually), I play campaign modes and stuff. It is VERY arrogant to think EVERYONE is always connected.

I read a few articles where all it had to do is touch base when turned on. Who knows at this point. Once again, not a real big issue either way for me. Prob will end up with both consoles anyway.

I'm getting both but if I were only getting one it would be PS4. Unless MS surprises everyone and has a ton of new, QUALITY exclusive IP's in the works that cater to the core gamer, there will be no advantage that I see that Xbox will have over PS4. Sony will have addressed all the advantages that Live currently has over PSN. They still have the lion's share of quality in-house franchises that cater to the core gamer. They will still have all of the 3rd party support that MS does and there will be no learning curve this time when it comes to multiplatform titles. Which means there will be no quality difference between games on both platforms! Unless you're just THAT entrenched into the Live ecosystem, I see no real advantage to being solely an Xbox player.

It sucks, but consoles are going to move to entirely download-based software by the time the 9th-generation consoles roll out. So, unfortunately, it's time to get used to a world where there's no running to Gamestop to buy a cheap used game.

I think a Playstation/Wii/Xbox marketplace in which users can "sell" licenses to games they no longer want would be very novel... but I'm not sure I'd even consider doing that if I were the Big 3 since it clearly impedes my profits.

All my friends are on XBL so that also plays a major role. And I'm not a core gamer. If PS4 doesn't have ESPN3 then it's a bust for me. I'm sure the services will be close but at this moment XBL is better for me.

Just not into PC gaming. I can't really justify that much money to build a pc that is just for gaming. I mostly play hockey and fps anyway so console is good for me.

I think most questions will be officially answered with the reveal.........that said, if it is always online type of deal, I will go PS4 no doubt
