New Xbox: Xbox Infinity

Look I'm not interested in a pissing contest. If you say it lags, fine it lags. All I'm saying is that lag for me has never been that big of an issue. Does it happen from time to time? Sure but don't act for a minute like XBL is somehow immune to it. I've played 360 at friend's house where lag has occurred as well.

was your friend's XBL, along with millions of others', hacked and their personal account details released into the wild?

With all that said, please be shocked with PS charges for all their tiered online capability services with the next gen.

Not that at all, its your continual beating of your chest that people are getting ripped off for paying less than 3 dollars a month for a premium service that is, in your mind, at the exact same level as a subpar online service. Youve been doing it for a month solid and now you "dont want to get into a pissing match".

They ARE getting ripped off.

From OS

The long-awaited first game from Respawn Entertainment—the studio helmed by the creators of Call of Duty—will be exclusive to the next-gen Xbox, according to two unrelated sources familiar with the game. One of our sources indicates that there will also be an Xbox 360 version, but no versions for rival PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.

The new game from Respawn is a futuristic multiplayer-centric online shooter, one of our sources says. The source describes the game as a battle of Davids and Goliaths. The Davids are heavily-armed foot soldiers. The Goliaths are the giant exosekeltons—Titans—that these soldiers can pilot. These Titans are big mech-style walkers that move with an agility not seen in games like Mechwarrior or Steel Battalions.

To keep the action balanced, game maps limit the number of Titans that can be used in a skirmish. Weapon loadouts for the foot soldiers are designed to ensure that the characters on foot can take out the Titans if need be. The source who described the game does not work at Respawn, but their description tracks with the long-reported desire by the former Infinity Ward team to make a sci-fi shooter.

An Xbox-only Respawn game would be a coup for Microsoft and a fascinating twist to a number of significant sagas. It has implications for publisher EA's rivalry with Call of Duty publisher Activision; for Microsoft's competition with Sony and, less directly with Nintendo; as well as for the ongoing debate about always-online gaming. Two sources have told us that this new game is, in fact, always-online.

We've heard from other sources that Microsoft is not where they want to be at this point in the pre-launch development of Durango. A reliable source—one who was not part of our reporting about the Respawn game—tells us that Microsoft is as much as six months behind in producing content for the new console, despite an expected late-2013 launch. Another tells us that Microsoft recently cancelled several internal next-gen projects because they were not coming together as hoped. These sources have told us that, comparatively, Sony is in better shape and further along with hardware and software development for PlayStation 4.

We'd also heard from an industry insider that Microsoft was aggressively trying to sign exclusive games for Durango. Given the lack of internal development at Microsoft—their internal studios, while talented, are outnumbered by those of Sony and Nintendo—and given some of the apparent recent stumbles and slowdowns internally, signing an exclusive Respawn-EA game would suit the Durango quite well.

I have no problem at 18 cents a day for a better product now. Say what you want about PSN but it is inferior in my opinion to XBL. I get a better service for what I pay for in party chat and ESPN 3 alone

I personally don't have too much trouble with lag on my PS3. Happens every once in a while but not very often at all. Xbox live does have the advantage though with the features IMO

Whooptie doo! I have ESPN 3 through my cable provider. And you don't have party chat BECAUSE you pay for Live. That is a stupid argument because it's completely a hardware driven feature. That would be like saying "well I don't mind paying for Live because the 360's graphics are better." One has absolutely nothing to do with the other. The PS3 would have it if not for memory issues. The PS Vita has that now and yet it still manages to be free. It's a HARDWARE FEATURE, not an online network feature! Also do you enjoy having to pay to use You Tube, Netflix, Hulu, etc on 360? Features that are free to use, not only on PS3 but pretty much every other hardware device that runs it?

Have fun with your inferior network. I'm fine with XBL and my espn 3 is better than standard cable. Plus as stated, I can't get it any other way. Dude, if you hate Microsoft so bad, why do you even bother coming in this thread. You are trolling hard.

I'm a ps3 owner and I can admit Xbox has superior networking but I like PS3 games more along with the blu ray. But Xbox is superior in networking for sure.

I don't know how you're getting Netflix for free unless your Mom and Dad are actually paying for the subscription and you log in via your PS3 for "free" (which is something my son can do with his 360).

No I just enjoy paying so our accounts don't get hacked and credit card numbers stolen. Just like what happened on ps3 not too long ago.

it did suck bigtime when the psn was hacked, but why people would keep a credit card number on ANY console in this day and age is just beyond me. as long as i have the option to buy psn cards or m$ points and pay that way, you better believe i will.

Agree, if you have it on ANY CONSOLE, you are just asking for it to be compromised

The amount of words and time BraveVolunteer has spent in this thread trying to convince people they are essentially being defrauded by MS for paying for a service that costs less per month than a box of cereal is mind boggling.

Ok ok..I think we can all agree XBL is the best and PSN is dirt.

But on a serious note, why pay for gold (XBL) when you can get $hit for free?
