New wordmark...

Well, you better get used to it, because it's going to be across the chest of every uniform in every sport for the foreseeable future.

Little dramatic but I see your point.
#1 Doubt it will be across the chest of our home football jersey.
#2 Fonts change. Nothing stays the same.

Sure they change, but take a look at the rebrands that Nike does for its schools and you'll see, this one will be around for years to come.

My son has an addidas shirt with that exact script on it I don't understand why people think this is some kind of Nike thing.

First the one Tennessee gets rid of the UT with the state used by the academic side, the state rebrands their logo and now this ugly font. I've hated all 3. I can only conclude that style is getting worse, or I'm getting really old.

They are not the same script. The shirt you posted was the stock font that Adidas used for all of its teams last year.

The new wordmark was developed by Nike for this rebrand.

I'm willing to bet you can't wait for the team to start winning so all of this crap will go away.

When the team isn't doing well everything is analyzed to the Nth degree.

You're a good sport for the insight you provide! :good!:

It never stops. There will always be an argument over alternates or helmet stripes or solid pants versus strips or a coach's jacket looking a shade different than the jerseys on TV or something.

It's fine, if it bothered me, I'd quit posting like I had to do on another board.

I don't know how long you go back following the Vols but I'll never forget the week of the South Carolina game when it was announced that UT was putting black trim around the numbers. Back then, Mike Keith had the afternoon sports radio show and the place blew up.

I'll never forget a guy called in and said, "Well, there's 2 traditions that have now left UT...Winning & the Big Orange."

I was never a fan of the black trim but I understood not being able to see the numbers on the white jerseys on the old TVs. Now, with HD, you can.

People have been complaining about the unis as long as I can remember.
