New Name: PJ Fleck Being Vetted

We would be better off having Steele as the interim instead of hiring Fleck? Some of you all are either legitimately stupid or legitimately retarded.[/QUOTE
I just think Fleck would be the worst choice of what options we may have . Just feel he’d be a terrible fit. Everybody I title to an opinion right. I just stated mine.

I'd say he appears to be one bad season away from being on the hot seat up there. You act like he's built some national powerhouse out of Minnesota.

You keep saying the same thing over and over to everyone. You want a source for everything and then throw in some half-baked insult lol. I've never seen someone on this board thirst replying to everyone this fast either. It's somewhere in between funny and embarrassing.
Fleck may have a shelf life, like Butch. Or he could be like Pearl or Lou Holtz. He may be a good motivator and developer. We need that a lot right now. Our culture is in the toilet.

I've taken my time forming an opinion on the two coaches who I believe are the actual finalists: Fleck & Elliott.

I've come around to fully suport both potential hires.

Go listen to Fleck's speech on the KNS site. Look closely at his history. At first, I overvalued the slogans and similarities to some of Butch's motivational tactics. Or I should say I overly devalued them thanks to my PBSD. Now, after time, I believe those were things he did because he had to given the situation he was in. There's no reason to automatically assume that he would just do the exact same thing when he got here. This is a different job at a different place. I believe he's a very good coach who could do well here, and I fully expect he would change his tactics somewhat to fit this job.

Burch was a facade who used the motivational crap to pull the wool over people's eyes and mask his deficiencies. Fleck is a good coach who uses the motivational crap to enhance his team. Totally different situation IMO.

Where did I imply that I have all the answers? Because I said that we need a slam dunk hire? Do you think we don't? You've been on here calling our fans rednecks, ignorant, and everything else from the jump. If you don't like the fans and you simply want to insult people and shill for a guy who would be average to slightly above average here, a youtube comment section is the place for you. Go crawl into that hole.

FWIW, I agree that White needs to make his own hire. I agree that Fleck seems like a good dude and he may or may not be at the perfect school to suit his coaching abilities. But there's something beta-level with the way you're going about it on here.

If you don't want to be insulted, quit insulting. You go crawl in that hole yourself. Where is your reading comprehension. Did I not state that I'll accept anyone that White brings here? I personally think that Fleck hss potential to be a good coaching hire based on his record. There are others I like also, however I'm not about to tell Danny White who to hire and I'm especially not about to criticize a coach for showing enthusiam by using slogans. That not a valid criterion to judge a coach as many think it is. If he wins I don't care what he says or doesn't say. With that said, it's about to rain and I have things to do and I'm tired of wasting my time with you.

Can't argue with any of that. I just want a gunslinger to come in here. Not unlike the way Spurrier did when he arrived at UF. I felt like Lane was that guy when he got here in 09, but that's irrelevant now.

"I don't wanna crawl in a hole. You do it." 😂

You're not done "wasting your time" on this. You've been on here for days now repeating yourself. Are you really resorting to the weather being the reason you can't talk about this anymore, or are you starting to see that shilling and labeling the fan base as a bunch of redneck hillbillies might not be the way to go about getting your point across?

Fleck had one decent year because of weak schedule and luck. His record at Minnesota outside of that was the same as his predecessor

Fleck took Western Michigan to the Cotton Bowl in his 4th after going 1-11 in year 1. Then went to Minnesota and won the division in year 3 and beat Auburn in the Outback Bowl. It’s ok if you don’t like the guy, but to think he’s some 1 year fluke is real dumb. Turned 2 programs around in a very short amount of time.

You couldn't have said it any better

I would like to think that someone in PR would tell him not to publicly use the slogans because of Butch.

They didn’t win the division. They lost to Wisconsin by 4 TDs. He has had three losing conference records in 4 seasons including an awful year last year. He literally has a fluke I win over Penn St and nothing else. The year he won 11, he played a weak conference schedule that also included Rutgers and Maryland from the other division and needed 3 last minute lucky breaks to beat his weak OoC opponents

For every reason you think know, give me your candidate and I can give you 2 reasons why not!
There is no perfect candidate that’s available. Everyone is a risk!

My apologies: they tied for the 1st in the division, and didn’t go to the Big 10 championship because they lost to Wisconsin by 3 tds*. Then they went on to beat Auburn and Malzahn in the Outback Bowl. He did this after trending up the previous 2 seasons at 5-7 and then 7-6. Yes, he had a bad season last year—they year that Northwestern won the division. Everyone knows that last year was a write off—especially for the Big 10.
it’s impressive because he did this at a lower profile football school. If you want any and every coach you hire to be unimpeachable and without bad losses/down years, then you’re going to end up disappointed with just about any hire.
are your thoughts the same on Hugh Freeze? Very similar coaching seasons with a “Fluke” win over Alabama.
