Neverending MBRO memory thread

She's told them about everything, including the nicked colon last year. She's supposed to have an appointment with that dr at the end of next month, but the attorney told her to find another Dr. Apparently they're gonna deal with that also.

She actually been upset since she got off the phone, said she doesn't wanna get anybody in trouble, or sue anybody. I get that, but after all the crap she's dealt with, if that's been part of the problem like the other dr said, they need to pay, even if it's just for the surgery to remove the thing.

Lawyer also said again that I was due compensation for how it's disrupted our sex life. I told her while she was on the phone that I'd gladly take the stand. I'd tell them I was a nympho, and they owe me big time😂😂

I agree with her, I really don’t want to be part of the suing mania but if I can’t see out my left eye again a certain eye doctor is getting his ass sued off.
Yeah, we've never been like that. This situation with her, lising her bladder, and almost dying from the infection has changed my feelings anyway. Not to mention we're at the hospital now getting treatment for the infection, and she's gotta have another surgery now. Hope your eye gets better man.

I hope Tiffany gets healed from all she’s been through and the doctors responsible for her agony have good malpractice insurance.

One possibility: perhaps the hospice agency also offers palliative care. Hospice has a lot of very explicit requirements, including life expectancy, while palliative care means that the patient has one or more chronic illnesses which will probably prove fatal one day, but no one is expecting that to occur imminently, and palliative care is provided that will minimize the distressing aspects of the illness including aggressive (and in the end pointless) treatments and maximize quality of life. It’s a subtle difference, and many people (including me, lol) have a hard time explaining it.

Here is an attempt at an example: the patient has advanced coronary artery disease.
—Palliative care options might be an agreement to not perform open-heart surgery in an attempt to preserve remaining healthy heart tissue, turn off an existing defibrillator to avoid shocks for arrhythmia, continue any meds that help keep him/her comfortable (maybe diuretics to reduce any swelling), and discontinue meds meant to prevent disease progression (maybe cancel cholesterol meds).
—Hospice care options might be to discontinue all heart medicines, leaving only those that can help reduce pain and distress, like maybe nitrates for chest pain and morphine for “air hunger” once the patient is actively dying.

Those examples are completely off the top of my head and probably won’t withstand the bright light of day. But whatever his status is, this discussion should have been held with your mother AND with you present, both for your emotional support and because you have a medical background. It sounds like the physician who provided medical care at the nursing home made the change, because nurses don’t have the authority to order patient dispositions.

I just got home from getting my mom admitted to the hospital again, so I’m right back in the same ya-ya-ya. I hope you can get some sensible answers soon, and especially that they’re the right decision for your dad, your mom, and you.

Hate to hear that about your mom. Hope all is well. I just got back from the hospital myself. After that wise crack I made last night about joe’s life, my son called me. My daughter in law was in hospital, awaiting surgery for appendicitis. They just brought her back to her room and doing great. Now it’s second shift work at mom and dad’s. 😩

@joevol33, Tiffany must be a Saint. My wife has some of the same family issues that you've described and it kills her on the inside
Man, I've sit and held her till she couldn't cry anymore over the way her parents are to her. They literally told her a few years ago they didn't want to have a family Christmas with everyone, because she would get jealous if she saw what they bought her sister's kids. I mean told her that to upset her, it boils my blood.

There was a dirt track racer here when I was a kid named Hooker Hood. He named his youngest son Robin. When Robin was old enough he changed his name legally, but not his first name he changed his last name to spite his father for having to grow up being made fun of because his name was Robin Hood.

she should block their number for a few months and see how that goes and block on FB if they use that

They went one spell for a long time without calling, or coming around. I believe if the situation stays tge same with her twin, they'll blame us and do it again.

Back home and feet up. My mom is doing well, resigned to being in the hospital, although she can’t remember why (we mostly have about five conversations over and over or the same topics, which are always new to her). With luck she’ll be discharged Thursday afternoon.

I took her chat lunatique to the kitty nail spa (aka the vet) for her nail trim, in hopes of delaying the next infection from a cat scratch. They gave her a little cocktail, and she relaxed a bit, but maybe not quite enough, and so they gave her a SECOND little cocktail, and she got REALLY relaxed and received her manicure. None of the staff required stitches or transfusions, the cat still had a pretty good buzz on when I picked her up (stoner eyes and loving on everyone in sight), and her claws are temporarily blunted until the tips grow back. So I guess this will be a recurring thing. I’ve always been able to handle just about any cat before, but her youth as an abandoned kitten on the streets of Mempho has made her just a bit over-reactive. The day that my mother adopted her and brought her home, she repeatedly attacked a ceramic statue of a cat until I finally hid it.

My wife's "female" Dr is really good. He's actually the one who sent her to the person who found the thing. She called his office from the hospital because he has records of everything, and asked if he would give her something to fax to that attorney.

He had several pages typed up, and ready on our way home. Detailing everything, including how that has impacted her health, and our intimacy. She faxed it, and the attorney responded with "wow, the Dr is helping". So I guess now it's gonna be a long waiting game, gotta see a surgeon and all that also.

Likely will offer an out of court settlement - which is better than court and then a bunch of appeals dragging it out

Point out to her that it’s like raising kids: if you don’t point out big screwups and administer discipline (justice), they’ll just keep doing it again, hurting others in the process.

Trust me, doctors (especially surgeons) pay pretty impressive premiums on their malpractice insurance. Heck, for once, they’re actually getting a return on investment, justifying all those premiums they paid. Any settlement will NOT come out of their pockets, and who knows, they might learn and do better in the future.

And in the meantime, she should bleed the device maker and distributor white. They knew there were problems, it had already been banned in Europe, and they kept selling to US women as long as they could get away with it. That not a case of human error - this is ruthless corporate greed, and they deserve everything they get.

Let's hope.

It's awful for Tiff to be without family support, but it's worse for it be the total and complete opposite.
