Amen to that. I was watching the internet broadcast of the sports animal yesterday, and even their host was talking extremely negative regarding recruits not wanting to come here with so many players leaving. Players leave, coacshes leave, but UT will always be here. Coaches cannot control personal problems of players. Stop the Chicken Little Complex. GO VOLS!!!!

I work in the field a lot around Knoxville. This leads me to listen to the Sports Animal pretty often, and the negativity spewing from that station at the moment is ridiculous. I understand that it will be a difficult season and the Oline stinks, but I would sometimes like to know who is playing well for the situation. They blab on and on about how the Vols should even be scared to field a team.

Lets call a spade a spade.

UT is in pretty bad shape right now.

Nothing wrong with being honest, anyone thinking UT is going to win 7 or 8 games is setting themselves up for disappointment.

Were depleted at the most vital positions and we are once again going through a coaching change.

So is it negativity or an honest evaluation?

You are not being negative if you look at the situation for what it is. The fact is we have not played in a BCS Bowl since the '99 season and we have been on a steady slide down. We needed a GREAT HIRE and we end up with a Kiffin and Dooley. The problem is Mike Hamilton.

Here's a very simple FACT...

Exactly NOBODY knows now or will know for 3 to 4 years if CDD & company are getting our program turned back around and heading us back up the mountain to being a National powerhouse or not !

Real UT fans will NOT be bashing and belittling our coaches, players and program on here day after day when our players and the kids we're trying to recruit ARE reading these boards.

All the negative crap on here ARE hurting our future recruiting and football program.

Another FACT...CDD and his staff ARE going to be here at least 4 to 5 years so get off the negative garbage and support our UT football program like real fans do and stop trying to help further damage our program.

You do NOT and will NOT have any say or control over anything anyway so stop acting like trolls and immature crybabies that's throwing a fit because you didn't get what you wanted.

GO BIG ORANGE !!!

I don't care if you have confidence or not, but stop pretending like it's going to be a complete tossup whether or not he improves UT.

Stating the things that are wrong with or could be considered negative I have no problem with. It is the obsessive nature at which it is being propelled at the moment that I have a problem with. I am sure there are some good things going on as well that could balance out the story lines. As far as local media I believe Austin Ward has written a couple of positive stories lately. My findings are based off of the Knox media. I would like to read more about position coaches and how their players are acclimating to the coaching etc.

..every notice the "negativity" always comes from the same people everytime no matter the subject or conversation. These are not sports people; just internet haters. Small people+small lives+no ambition + internet access= trolls.
Bones never lie.
(sites such as Nickelodeon/Cartoon Network(kids sites) have to hire full time admins to patrol their boards because of these types(sure its not kids posting hate and stupidity)..yea thats how stupid its become as some have had to take down any type of outside posting)

Why wouldnt it be a toss up???? Its always a toss up with every team year in and year out. You dont know automatically which team from any conference is gonna perform the best, new coach or not. The freshman we have coming in could make a huge difference, something we will have to wait and see about.

I really want to know, from all the Dooley haters, who should and or could we have hired in our situation?

We were left with a few weeks before signing day and needed to regroup a class. All of the big name coaches had already signed an extension or found a new home. Who could we have gotten that would make you all happy?

So you are trying to tell me that in 2009 it was a toss up between Florida/Bama winning the conference and Vandy/Miss St winning the conference?

You're kidding, right? Dooley may do well, but you're logic is insane.

So you think that all games are played on paper? And that a team rated higher than it's opponent has never been outplayed and therefor beat?

We all know the team isnt where we would like it to be, and, weve all seen it comeing and new it was gonna be tuff for a few years especially after Kiffen left...but we need not hate on the ones we have, im not gonna hang on to all the bad, that just ruins the season and i enjoy football, not gonna let that happen.Ive made my mind up that im gonna enjoy the good things we have and gonna enjoy the season and watching us re-tool the team..good things ahead for the Vols.

How does it make anyone LESS of a fan to realize this program is in rough shape.

Any honest fan will admit times are rough on the Hill right now. Any honest fan will admit there are lots of issues and many, many, unknowns.

But any honest fan will also have to acknowledge that those unknowns go both ways. It's not the acknowledgement that that we've been through a rough patch in terms of coaching and that the talent level is lower than we would like it to be that gets to me. It the absolute certainty that certain posters have that there is no way the current staff can fix it and their bashing of someone that hasn't coached a single game yet that gets to me.

Coach Dooley has taken on a huge challenge. He will succeed or fail. He will need time to do either as many of the problems he is dealing with are not of his making. I wasn't necessarily thrilled when he was hired--but he was hired and is our coach and I will support him and the staff until it is proven they can't do the job. But wouldn't it be SO MUCH sweeter if they proved just the opposite? EVERY real fan wants us to win. By the tone of some folk's posts I would question whether they really want coach Dooley to succeed. They sound as if they would rather be proven right as opposed to see the Vols win. That is pretty sad if you ask me.

Go Big Orange!
