Well thats no fun for the carousel :) can't argue with the results though

USC: Interim head coach Clay Helton has been named full-time head coach. Helton is 5-2 since taking over for Steve Sarkisian. The Trojans play in the Pac-12 Championship Game this weekend. Don't be surprised if Helton makes staff changes next season.

Yep. 14 starters returning from an 11-1 team with easily the best class in the AAC coming in. They get Oklahoma in Week One, but other than that...22-2 over two years?

Yup, and Texas will be throwing money at him, which is why I was told LSU boosters did not support LSU going after him. Texas will be spending big bucks at the end of next year is my guess.

Also, more free publicity for my guy Matt Wells at Utah State: 3-3 v. ranked teams in three years; Utah State was 2-50 all time before his tenure.

The folks on the USU message board haven't been kind to him this season but he's done a very good job coaching a program that was dead before he got there.

All about perspective. Impossible to recruit great players to (Chuckie Keeton wasn't even rated by 247) so he's consistently got about a 4 or 5 win roster in the hands of an average coach. Can they not be grateful for him getting USU to 10 wins last year with a fourth-string QB? Sorcery.

not college but interesting

Philadelphia Eagles: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tells 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia “not to rule out a trade” of Chip Kelly to the Tennessee Titans, a deal that could include a first-round pick.

Doug Meacham may or may not be the new college at North Texas

North Texas: The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports TCU co-offensive coordinator / inside receivers coach Doug Meacham will be named head coach at North Texas. The paper adds that TCU is expected to retain co-offensive coordinator Sonny Cumbie, who is reportedly drawing interest from Charlie Strong and Texas. However, the Denton Record-Chronicle reported this afternoon Meacham is not expected to end up at UNT.

I don't think his offense can work in the NFL too much speed on defense.

So which job is Brohm waiting on? Kentucky?

Western Kentucky: Head coach Jeff Brohm has turned down two interview opportunities this week and is “totally focused on (the C-USA) title game,” according to Scout.com

Do you think Tulane will talk to him? I think Virginia,Maryland and Rutgers will.

It's a gimmick, elite players expose the gimmick rather easily. Oh course, I think the same thing about whatever it is TAM has thoughts its doing for 4 years.

And no NFL player wants that many snaps on either side of ball.

That's been the noise here in Nashville, the ownership is 100% invested in MM so it wouldn't surprise me if they pulled a move like this.
