NBA Playoffs Thread

He tried to defer more at the beginning of the year and they sucked. Melo told him to be who he is and they started winning more. Were in a 17-5 stretch before Dre got hurt. But I'm sure you watch every OKC game and know this already. Does he stat whore? Yes Do they need him to most of the time? Yes

Not what I'm talking about. Not passing so he can get his shot. Or passing up a wide open layup to get himself an assist rather than points. Acting all pissy when his teammates don't shoot it directly after his pass to get the assist. Dude is a clown show. He approaches it like he's trying to get a triple double rather than being an efficient player/good teammate. Defend that sh*t show all you want. Excruciating to watch that mess.

Russ pass up a layup? Lol He yelled at Adams once for not taking a shot, that's the only time that happened all year. The simple solution is don't watch him play, seems like he really has a negative effect on your life. No worries, I don't watch Kyle Singler for the same reason.

Suns beg to differ.

Mo Williams and Mario Chalmers beg to differ

Williams was a little better in Milwaukee than with Cleveland. Chalmers has the same exact stats with Miami or with other reams.

Neither was better with LeBron. On better teams record wise. Not better individually. They were basically the same player with or without LeBron.

Everyone else has gotten noticeably worse with LeBron except Kyrie who was ascending. He still was just as good or better without LeBron this year too.

Bosh, Love, Hood, Crowder, Thomas, Wade etc have all been better without LeBron. There is a reason free agents that aren't role players never came to Cleveland.

What decent player has had a career year with Lebron?

Playing better doesn't mean you are going to have bigger numbers. Of course Bosh and Wade didn't have career years with Lebron.

Broken hip Thomas? Really? How'd he do with LAL? Including him is a joke.

Look at Chalmers' shooting stats...he only shot 32%+ from 3 without Lebron one time. His worst year with Lebron was 36%.

I think the better phrasing would be that Lebron diminishes everyone's role on offense because his style of play makes the offense entirely dependant on him having the ball. Not just to score, but to set things up for shooters.

It works with one other ball dominant player, because it helps lighten his load and lets him dabble with being a slasher. But beyond a 2nd player, there just isnt enough time for anything but spot up shooters.

Exactly. 96 Bulls were the perfect big 3 because there was a clear offensive alpha, everybody was happy on O, they were all great at D and rebounding.

That first year Wade and Lebron were trying to work out who was the offensive alpha, Bosh was never totally happy on O, and he was only "good" at D and rebounding.

Mo Williams made one All-Star team and it was next to LeBron. Both of them got a ton of open 3s, and it made people think Chalmers was actually good for a couple of years.

I’m pretty sure you are basically regurgitating an ESPN article from a few days ago

Those Bulls were the perfect big 3 because nobody realized they even were a big 3. Not even Rodman.

MW had a better year than the All Star year in Milwaukee. He was on a good team and several players were hurt. He is just one the All stars LeBron wasted. He was decent in Milwaukee and with Cleveland. But of course LeBron had no help.

Chalmers basically has identical stats with Lebron and without. So you had to dig deep to find one stat that is a few percentage points better. He wa and a better player with Lebron.

I literally just now saw and read the article. I hadn't seen it. I have been saying this. The article did confirm everything I'm saying though.

Wilbon had a column about Lebron going to DC. Is there a more poorly managed team than the Wizards? They've been able to collect a decent team, but they're nowhere near a title and they have absolutely no flexibility. This is incredible:

Mahimni was an absolutely nightmarish deal. Made no sense at the time and still doesn’t.
