NBA Playoffs Thread

I believe him. I don't understand why anyone would think he was just chasing rings. Just cause he joined a team that won 73 games and beat his team? I mean come on, he's obviously telling the truth here.

Side benefit is that he actually got an opportunity to play in a real team environment. Not just being part of a duo where one half of the duo is obsessed with his own triple double legacy.

Nope.

There’s plenty of teams KD could have went too with a better environment where his skills could also be used.

Joining the best team in the league with the most deadly shooters whom you choked against with the Thunder is a weak move.

If he would have went somewhere else, no one would care. He wouldn’t be considered a chump by a good majority of the world.

That would be like LBJ joining Garnett, Ray Allen, and Pierce after losing to the Boston Celtics.

Just as weak as the Heat super team.

At least they play as a team. I see why he went. They play basketball the right way. Not just having one guy dominate the ball and pad stats.

LeBron is trying to find a third superteam. He started it all.

Nobody knew if the Heat super team was going to work and it actually created some balance in the league. The Heat were not the best team without Lebron. It's completely different.

You are right. It's even weaker than KDs move. KD was one free agent joining a home grown team.

LeBron joined a Finals MVP and a couple all stars to create a superteam.

KD joined a team. LeBron and company created one to try and have a competitive advantage.

Of course they werent the best team without him. It was a completely different team. One he created. Then fell short of expectations.

No Lebron fan can cry about the Warriors when Lebron couldnt win with just as much of an advantage roster wise.

Your points don't support your conclusions. This post makes no sense.

Half the people here are not Lebron fans and I guarantee that nobody agrees with you about which was the weaker move.

So Cleveland was a super team? Lol

Buddy they’re the worst team in the league without LeBron.

The Heat wasn’t a super team nor even close to the caliber of the Warriors before he got there.

It’s different creating a team to take down the best teams in the NBA.

KD just joined an already dominant team that won an Championship WITHOUT him.

The fact that you think LeBron’s move was weaker than KD’s move is straight up comical.

K-town accidentally made a point in favor of Lebron by implying the Heat didn't play as a team. It's 100% true Lebron and Wade didn't fit that great together in large part due to the fact that Lebron was not yet a good 3p shooter and Wade has never been that. Still won 2 titles and had 4 finals appearances.

Lebron made a super team with his best friend, he did not make the best super team ever (like KD did).

I guess we’re totally ignoring that LeBron recruited Chris Bosh to Cleveland as well. No one wanted to play there so he was forced to leave.

I’ll give you the Dallas finals, that loss was fairly inexcusable. But I think you’re gonna have a hard time finding anybody to agree that the roster disparity in either the OKC or either of SA finals was anywhere close to what we saw this year.

Also you must have a very distorted view of what winning is if you think Lebron “couldn’t win” during his time in Miami.

Actually the 04 Lakers were the first super team, but they were old

As far as super teams created with free agency, I would argue adding the best rebounder of all time to a roster with the best SG and SF in the league was a super team (and don't forget Ron Harper averaged 19 ppg before joining the Bulls).

I would also say Barkley, Drexler, and Olajuwan was a super team.

Btw, 2004 Lakers weren't too old to win, Kobe just choked in the finals. He was worse than 2011 Lebron. Outside of a good game 2, Kobe was atrocious. He shot 37%, 31%, 32%, and 33% in games 1, 3, 4, and 5.

Kobe is the original super team choker

He tried to create a superteam in Cleveland. His style of play just doesn't make others better. He turned Love into a spot up shooter like he did Bosh. He also had Kyrie. The Cavs were absolutely a superteam. LeBron and two All stars in their prime. A big man who averaged 26 12.5 and 4.4 the year before he came.

No duh the Heat weren't a superteam before. He CREATED the superteam there in a weak move and still lost to a bum team in the Finals.

KD joined a homegrown team put together the right way. He didn't hand pick a team to CREATE a superteam.

Side benefit they win 80+% of the games he triple doubles in.

Beat me too it

That makes him less of a stat whore teammate?

He tried to defer more at the beginning of the year and they sucked. Melo told him to be who he is and they started winning more. Were in a 17-5 stretch before Dre got hurt. But I'm sure you watch every OKC game and know this already. Does he stat whore? Yes Do they need him to most of the time? Yes
