NBA Playoffs Thread

Personally, I don’t think Russ & LBJ would have good chemistry.

Russ would have to give up some of his stats & triple doubles.

Russ was doing it to start this year till Melo said they needed him to be who he is. Russ wants to win, he just needs someone to help him harness that crazed energy. LBJ could help him in that respect I think. He usually goes wrecking ball out of necessity.

You really think Kyrie is going to want to play with LBJ again? I dont see it. He went to Boston to get away from LBJ. So I would say Boston is out.

Lebron could stay in Cleveland, have serious talk with Gilbert about him finishing his career there. Then he could tell him hey spend the money and go get somebody. I find it hard to believe that another superstar would not want to come and play with Lebron.

But I think there is something else that may happen. LBJ may just sit out next year and then wait and see where other big time superstars will sign. Then make his decision.

Kyrie doesn't call the shots. Last time I checked, Lebron was the better player and Kyrie is injury prone. Why not trade Kyrie for a draft pick and sign a better player?

I'll be shocked if Lebron sits out.

That would definitely be interesting if he did play for SA. I have heard LBJ wants to play off the ball more.

Pop can adjust to LBJ’s playstyle.

Remember, LeBron is a pass first guy and the Spurs are a great ball movement team.

It could work.

If LBJ is willing to change his style, I believe it would work as well. He shouldnt be bringing the ball up as much and he likely wouldnt be in SA. It could absolutely work.

Him and Pop would figure it out, but I think he would still bring it up a lot honestly. Parker is close to done, Mills is better served as a spot up shooter, and Dejounte is full of potential but he is basically a far less talented young Russ at this point. JMO

NBA TV has a 30 year anniversary show for the 88 Lakers/Pistons series and it’s a good thing I was not alive for that bogus BS call on Laimbeer in the final minute.

My original favorite NBA team as my dad was a Lakers fan. Thanks for making me feel old.

If Lebron isn’t going to have the ball in his hands as much then it’s imperative he becomes a knockdown shooter off the catch

He needs to base his game primarily on posting up guys and getting to the hole. He is almost unstoppable getting to the basket. He is also very good off the pick and roll. I think LBJ needs to shorten his game. Meaning, shots closer to the basket.

He only has a few years left to win a championship, maybe only 1 or 2 before he falls off. He won’t waste them doing nothing

Lebron is one of the most durable superstars that has ever played a sport. I believe barring a serious injury, that he can play at a championship caliber for another 3-4 years. I am not saying he will sit, but it wouldnt surprise me if he did. He wants to find the right team.

Dude, I wanna hit whatever u are smoking, it has obviously blown your mind. There is no way in he!! that LeBron is sitting out a year. Wait, unless he wants to play WR for the Browns for a year. Bwaa-ha-ha. Stick to your sour a$$ posts in the FF and RF, because u are effed up, if u really believe that.

Btw, did anybody see where LBJs son Bronnie committed to play for some high school in LA, next year? No joke, committed. Apparently, they do that in LA

You can’t get much closer to the basket than this past series. Lebron is always going to be able to get to the goal and post up, but if you take the ball out of his hands he would need to turn himself into a good catch and shoot 3pt guy to evolve his game as he ages.

It's weird hearing ESPN, Bill Simmons, and others speculate and wonder about how much Lebron's hand was bothering him and nobody is looking at shooting stats for insight. It seems like it's the most obvious place to look. They say "well, he did the alley oop to himself". You're ESPN...you have the stats right there on your website. From 15'+:

game 1 = 7/16
game 2 = 2/6 (interestingly both makes were flukey 30-footers
game 3 = 1/7
game 4 = 0/1

Lebron shot 38.3% from 3 on catch-and-shoot shots this year, and 37.9% last year.

The fact that he stopped shooting should tell you all you need to know.

I don’t think his hand is broken - but I’ll bet it hurts like hell.

IDK if it's about it hurting or that it just bothered him to the point that he couldn't rely on his shot being accurate.
