NBA Playoffs Thread

Houston doesn't make sense to me. Their biggest problem was they didn't have depth and they'd have to let Ariza and Capela walk to get Lebron. Capela was a mismatch for GSW and one of the biggest reasons that series was close. CP3 is another year older.

Maybe if Houston sends Anderson and signs/trades Capela to Cavs and Lebron brings Thompson? I still don't think they can beat GSW, and I doubt Cavs go for that trade (maybe 3-team trade?).

I forgot about Anderson’s horrific contract. Would they have to let Capela walk? I’m sure they’d be in the luxury tax but could they not wait to resign CP3 and Capela until Lebron is on the dotted line and then use bird rights to sign back CP3 and Capela? The rest of the roster would be thin but you’d be banking on players taking pay cuts to ring chase

Houston is the only option that makes sense if he wants more rings.

Him going to Philly with Ben Simmons wouldn’t take down the Warriors.

I don't think Houston would with who they would have to let walk to get that done.

Would Kyrie be ok with 'Bron in Boston?

See, I think they get rid of Kyrie. Kyrie is unreliable. I think he's only played 70 games twice in his career.

Why hang onto the injury-prone Kyrie when you have Smart and Rozier and can get trade Kyrie for a high draft pick AND snag Lebron for the next 2-3 years. It's a no-brainer, if Lebron is game.

Smart
Hayward
Tatum
Lebron
Horford

with Brown and Rozier being the first two off the bench.

I’m sure all Philly fans would lol

Trading for Kawhi Leonard makes more sense imo

What are they willing to trade that SA would take?

When Aldridge asked to get traded last year, Pop told him something like "I'm not trading you unless I can get equal value for you, so you better get used to the idea of staying here."

I think he's going to tell KL the same thing.

Please don't send LBJ to Boston, not because I think it would be unfair, but because I like the way they play and I don't want Rozier, Brown, and Tatum to become 3-point shooting stiffs.

Durant said he's staying.

Here's a scenario....he and Lebron stay with their respective teams another year, then link up in NY next season when Porzingis is healthy and the Knicks have the #1 pick in the draft. Knicks have like $35M in cap space that year, and they can amnesty Noah.

But why would KD do That? He's got a great chance at winning every year, and I think he likes beating LBJ.

Durant's business partner is from New York. A bonus reason KD went to GSW is because he wanted to get familiar with and invest in Silicon Valley. NY presents different kinds of opportunities.

He'll have brought GSW two titles, but they already had one and probably would have won more without him. I'm not sure he's even the 2nd most popular player on their team.

I think he'd be lead dog in 2020, between he and Lebron (who will be 35). Bringing NY a title would be amazing for his legacy.

He still wouldn't be the second most popular player on the team, he is the lead dog, I don't think joining LBJ and winning a title in NY would do much for his legacy. Maybe to NY and East Coast media.

Nah, this is Curry's team.

Because...um....it’s not an NBA rule? You can use the stretch provision but the amnesty rule hasn’t been around for like 3 years.

yeah if they waived Noah they would owe him full salary next year and then $6 mil would count against NY's cap for the next 3 years

Yet Kerr allows Durant to drive the offense more often.

Warriors were 8-0 when they were missing Durant and not Curry this year.

They were 19-10 when they were missing Curry and not Durant.
