While I don't agree with Huff and his MVP choices, I see where he's coming from. Guys like Drummand and Jordan can make an opposing team in to jump shooters. That value doesn't show up in stats.
I think Andre could be special and Jordan is just now realizing his potential. The way the game is played now, athletic bigs like them are like pure gold.
Lebron is shooting 57%. It's highly unlikely that on any given night he shoots just 30% (in fact I don't think he's done that this year). In baseball you can be a .350 hitter and be very likely to go 0-4 on any given night.
Baseball is a lot less consistent. You might have 3 home runs in one night and then only 3 home runs the entire next month. In basketball, a guy who averages 12 rebounds is going to get between 8 and 16 rebounds almost every night.
Thus, basketball stats are inherently more predictive.
