That's your assumption. The data says otherwise. If we're talking about a guy who gets 5 mpg, then yeah his per 48 minute productivity is unreliable in comparison, but if you compare a guy who plays 20 mpg to a guy who plays 30 mpg, the per 48 minutes hold true.

Agree to disagree

I've watched 75% of Drummond's games this season. I've seen 25% of Hibbert's. I'm the biggest Drummond fan there is. He's not a better defender. He can't guard a PNR on a consistent, he still get lost, and he struggles against quicker post players that can face up. Not only that, Hibbert also a lower field goal percentage than Drummond against shots at the rim.

Looking at numbers>>>watching a game IMO CATB DEB TMFDWG

I get it just fine. Your changing the numbers to fit your argument.

It's clear you don't get it.

It's a measure of per minute productivity. Putting it in 48 minute increments or 36 minute increments makes no practical difference.

If we looked at Paul George's per 48 minute numbers they would all just be 33% higher than what you see in the per 36 stats. If my point is that his productivity has stayed the same regardless of MPG, it doesn't matter if we look at per 36 or per 48.

Again, I get it. You just read into these stats way too much. Especially when you say D Jordan is in the MVP race.

It's the same in the baseball forum.

Except baseball advanced stats are actually way more reliable than basketball advanced metrics.

I'm glad you brought baseball up. Think of per 36 or per 48 as ERA. ERA is based on 9 innings. It's not necessarily saying the pitcher is going to pitch 9 innings, it's just saying what he does every 9 innings. If you changed ERA to base it on 6 innings it would still provide the same measurement, just in different increments.

Kyle Korver is the best player in the NBA, didn't you know?!?!?!

You must warp my arguments to make me look a fool. Kyle Korver is a top 50 player, IMO. All I have to do is read your posts about per 36 and you look a fool. Just quit.

Thought you said he was top 25?

He's been a top 25 performer this year, but if we we ranking players based on how good they are, he usually performs in the 40-60 range. He's having a career year.

Think of the extreme example of Kobe this year. Kobe is a top 25 player, but a bottom 25 performer this season.
