Oh and Rodman possibly being on the basketball Mount Rushmore. He doesn't even make PF Mount Rushmore.

Rodman's an interesting test case for the stats guys. His rebounding numbers were so overwhelming that there's almost no way you can take advanced stats seriously and not then be forced to argue that he was an all-timer. But what the stats don't capture is that once Rodman shifted into Rebounding Monster mode, he became significantly worse as a defender because he no longer contested shots as closely. He started pulling off guys and letting them have better shots so that he'd be in better rebounding position. That hurts the team but pads his own stats. How are advanced metrics supposed to capture that?

I love me some Rodman, he's on my Mount Rushmore of favorite players. While he was never a big threat offensively, he (much like you said about d) was a liability as far as scoring after he went rebound crazy. During the height of his rebounding years he had 6 seasons under 8 pts, 4 of which were under 6, he was getting around 5.5 offensive rebounds at that point. Convert half of those and it's 5 pts, yet you can't average 6. Yes his off rbs created more shots, but for a guy rebounding like you should score more on accident. He was consumed with grabbing a rebound, and didn't really work on the rest of his craft. To be all time great in my book, you have to be more than a specialist.

You also once said that Marvin Williams's rebounding numbers indicated that he was a top 50 player in the NBA. Can I assume that now that you've had the pleasure of watching him play for two years for your own team that you no longer feel that way?

He hasn't played at that level since arriving in Utah, but he's still good. The Jazz got better when he got healthy. They've won 19 of their last 39 and they're supposed to be one of the worst teams. He's significant part of their recent success.

I bet Huff is out campaigning to Bring Bruce Back!

I've been a busy boy lately.

That's ridiculous.

There are 8 guys that have legit arguments to be there. Timmy, Chuck, Malone, KG, Rodman, McHale, Dirk and Elvin Hayes. So it's far from ridiculous.

My list is Timmy, Chuck, Malone and McHale. Rodman is really close, but the other guys just had better all around games. KG and Dirk are still playing so I don't count them, I know so is Timmy but he's the GOAT at PF. I never saw Hayes play so idk where to put him.
