12 games for 100 minutes.

His per 36 is amazing 13 pts, 10 rebs, 1.4 steals, 2.2 blocks. Horrible assist-turnover ratio though 0-5

Haha. He looks OK when he plays...his per 36 doesn't really mean anything, though. It's not significant. I'd like to see him play 500-1000 minutes before we know for sure what to expect from him on average.

In a thousand minutes he projects to zero assists and 50 turnovers...do not want

So stupid. This is the kind of rule for the sake of rules garbage that drives me nuts about sports. The black mask could have been iconic. It would have sold t-shirts, at the very least.

It's stupid, but at least it's in line with past NBA policy and they didn't just pull it out of thin air today. Apparently the league actually made Kobe switch from a black to a clear mask at halftime of a game a couple years ago.

I don't see any value in being consistently stupid.

The only thing I can think that would make any sense at all is that they are worried he may headbutt someone with it. It seems their issue is with the color and not the material, though.

In a sport where revenue is driven by superstars, it's amazing to me that the league doesn't allow for more individuality.

Why would headbutting someone with a carbon fiber mask that would certainly withstand the impact be worse than headbutting someone with a clear plastic one that might shatter all over someone's face?

Would the plastic really shatter? I'm not saying it's legitimate, but it's the only line of reasoning that makes any sense at all. I honestly don't know that there is a difference between getting headbutted by carbon-fiber or just a forehead.

Any reason I have thought of is dumb, which is probably why they haven't offered an explanation.

I'd say it's highly unlikely that plastic would shatter, but I bet it's more likely than shattering the carbon fiber. He's got a broken nose, so he's got to wear something and nearly everything we've cooked up in here seems to point toward the black one actually being better/safer, and since they've offered no explanation I'll just assume this is the NBA being petty.

P****s wear the mask anyway, toughen the **** up already. Before somebody asks if I've had a broken nose, 6 times. Played basketball with one many times. Got my nose broke while sparring, fought 2 days later in The Golden Gloves. Just suck it up.

My HS is playing in the state championship tonight. $10 to stream. Since I'm pretty certain the stream will be terrible, $10 is a lot to ask.

Still probably not a worse deal cost vs. quality wise than the $40 UT charges for their yearly football PPV that looks like it's being broadcast from 1980.

Wade's been looking like his old self. He and Lebron seem to be shooting 75% between them lately.
