The intentional dumbing down of Americans via our educational systems has been happening for decades.

I saw it first hand, over 20 years ago, with my girls when they’d get home from school and we’d discuss what they were being taught. Or something would make the news and their understanding of it and the history behind it was just inaccurate and incomplete. When I’d question the validity of their stances and statements it was always right back to what they were being taught in school, or weren’t being taught. Education was becoming dangerously changed and sanitized even then.

I think that people have a right to be bitter and cynical when they have lived long enough to see what has happened to our country due to liberal policies, and a subpar public school system. I don't respond directly to Luther.

I dont argue with purple or dumblevolprof. You cannot have a rational conversation with an irrational person. You just cant...logic, reason, facts do not matter. FEELZ are all that matters. We both know this is a BIG part of why we are where we are right now. Feel free to show him his mistakes if you want to.

That said...here we go...

One of the things that surprised me at the rally/protest my wife and I went to yesterday was that most every speaker talked about their faith and that God would be the one to lead the country through these difficult times.
Side note..........I, nor my family, are very "religious" people.

To peacefully protest against police brutality makes perfect sense. That is American as it gets. God is fine with that as well. Unfortunately, that was out the window in many ways from the beginning here. When those protests were hijacked by both BLM (a Dem money funnel, who openly states its main goal is abolishing police) and ANTIFA which is a communist terrorist organization that openly seeks to destroy capitalism and democracy from within. .through violence and subversion. These 2 groups seized this situation as opportunists almost immediately. They do not care about Floyd. Nor police brutality. They want to change this country in every meaningful way...from a place of individual opportunity and freedom into a socialist/communist collective which has failed EVERY SINGLE TIME it has been implemented.

Lots of people give lip service to "god" luther. All around the world. On their way to the abortion clinic to volunteer helping murder babies, at the pulpit at gay "weddings", in Arabic right before they detonate their vests in crowded market places. Slaughtering innocent people who they do not know...

These people do not speak for God, nor of Him. He speaks for Himself. In the Bible, a collection of His Word. These folks who speak His name while doing the opposite of what He has told them to do are heretics. They are a danger to themselves and others, because people who have never read scripture can be deceived into thinking that God agrees with what these people say and do...when His word says that He absolutely does not.

Dont take my word for it. I am a fool remember. Learn what God says. Read His word and He makes it clear what is right and wrong. Very little gray area. I have personally seen Gods power on Earth, and yet I still sin every day. Either in sins of commission, or omission.. I know the Truth though. Beats the wheels off of ignorance.

I typed a long post this morning, I have a theory now ...a couple of factors I believe that have made our youth so lost, so discouraged, and confused. I deleted it about 90% through, I do that regularly. I didnt like the tone of it, and felt like it would displease God. If I can manage to get these thoughts laid out without offending Him, I will try to post it later. I am interested to hear what yall think, and moreso to see what you would add to my thoughts...that we might actually come to a better understanding of where we (as a country, as parents, as leaders) have gone wrong.

I do not believe yet that we are on a course for destruction that cannot be avoided. For now, anyway. Scripture says we are definitely on a course to eventual destruction....that is clear. I have not yet given up on the present time though...maybe I am just ignorant as to how bad things actually are...or maybe I just see enough good left in some people to believe that we can be saved. I welcome input from everyone, it pains me to see our country this way. Glad my Dad and Pappaw, who both served 26 years active military, are not here to see it. God spared them this pain and worry.

You do realize that their are multiple protests everyday, right? And I'm just talking about metro Atlanta.
They are 99.5% peaceful.
Where are you getting your perspective of the protests and protesters?
I'm guessing my perspective is substantially better.

Former full time officer not current. There has been a steady decrease in qualified officer candidates for a myriad of reasons the past 20 years as several older officers have left for either more lucrative better paid positions (like me) or retired all together. This has lead to severe staffing shortages which increases crimes/issues in some areas (KPD and KCSO currently are staffed at around 65%). In bigger cities out west the average call for service response time for “regular calls” by police is about 45-55 min. That’s crazy

The issue (much like doctors/nurses/teachers isn’t right now but in 10-15 years from now.

Scary indeed with more and more self entitled maniacs running around on the streets. The police is put in more and more dangerous situations because of the mental health laws now. No longer can you make that call about a person suffering from mental health issues and they take them in for treatment. The person has to be a willing party unless they are a clear and present danger. Then the process is reactive. Help me out if I'm wrong.

The liberal public school system where kids don't learn cursive writing, American or Tennessee state history and the Michelle Obama health plan with little to no fitness except standing for 5 or 10 minutes for something goofy. PE is just too competitive and old school.

A third grader today can put together a digital presentation better than most adults can, certainly better than most adults could 10 or 15 years ago.

What I see in your post and Ras' is a $hitload of blame placing right wing evangelical paranoia. I've been hearing it since I attended a Bob Jones University satellite school from 4th to 12th grade. I sincerely believe young people are rejecting Christianity because of people like you. The judging, prejudice and bigotry of the Christian Right has permanently turned off a lot of young people to Christianity, who mistakenly believe all Christians think like you. And your kind has been baying about the demise of the family since the 1950s.

I'm an atheist, but I don't have a disdain with religion. It serves a purpose.

A third grader also can't multiply 2 x 2. Eat a school lunch before claiming it to be healthy. Obama had a chance to enhance the physical activity but instead required 90 minutes of reading (which pushes the students away from reading).

That is so many different logical fallacies that I am not sure how to approach it. You do you. I told you the best advice one can give...do not take my word for it. Read the scripture and figure it out for yourself. Thankfully, what you believe or do has zero effect on Me or my family. We will all answer to Him, alone , for what we do and believe....

Love for you to show me where a sane human being says that God is cool with abortion, gay marriage, and suicide bombers though...or anything else I said He disagrees with. Womens lib has consequences. I have a mom. Wife, and daughter. I know for a 100% fact that other than certain physical things, a woman CAN DO about anything a man CAN DO. That doesnt mean she SHOULD DO all or even most of them.

I told my son good luck. Good luck finding a good woman like your mom that can cook, keep a home, be a great mom, and TAKE PRIDE in that role. They were nearly extinct 20 years ago when I was his age. Most girls today cannot cook or manage a household...and have absolutely no intentions of doing either anyway. They have abandoned the traditional role of mom and wife, caregiver and home maker. The glue that holds families together. They want an office job with a cushy desk making at least 100k a year ...and like boys generally have absolutely NO IDEA doing what, or why anyone would ever pay them a fortune to do so. All they know is that they HAVE to attend a 4 year college and forget about ever learning a trade, making a family, being a stay at home mom etc. ...

But let's ALWAYS BLAME DAD. In many, many cases Dad had exactly 0% input on what was going to happen after she got pregnant....whether in a relationship or from a hookup at a bar , party, etc. ZERO INPUT. Zero rights. Dad has a right to pay child support, and in the VAST majority of cases will get to see his kids every other weekend etc according to standard state visitation by a non custodial parent. That's it. Period.

I invite you all to have conversations with the ladies and especially young ladies that are around you. Ask them what their plans are. Ask them if they plan to stay home and raise kids. Ask them if they are good cooks, or have kids already and their marital status. This isnt a black thing. It's an American thing. How can Dads "stay home" and "do the right thing" when in many cases that was never an option in the 1st place? They have next to ZERO power in these situations. The legal system and courts are geared 100% for the female to have whatever she wants. Dad is an afterthought, generally seen as either a source of child support or a "deadbeat ".

Talk to young ladies. I bet you guys will be surprised. This is down in the Bible Belt...which I would wager has twice the chance of a traditional family role based on religious beliefs as a Liberal city up north. I remember reading about 20 years ago when we were starting our family that in 1950, almost 80% of families had a stay at home mom. By year 2000, it was 8%. EIGHT %....my wife and I discussed that. I told her that it was probably mostly due to economics...that only doctors and lawyers mostly could afford to make it on 1 income. We decided that we were gonna be part of that 8%....and still put my kids in Christian School . With no college degrees. We would do without as needed, and trusted that of we did our part that God would do the rest.

Many weeks when my kids were young, I didnt see them awake except for saturday nights and Sundays. I worked a full time job in construction during the day, and kept a sidejob at night doing kitchen and bath remodels to make ends meet. Left home at 6am and got back at 10 or 11pm. I missed many, many "firsts"...but my wife was always there. Both of my kids could read and write at probably a 2nd or 3rd grade level when they started kindergarten. My son just graduated as valedictorian, and is starting college as a sophomore with 32hours credit on day 1 . His little sister is on a similar path, but will likely not be quite as decorated as him academically. She plays basketball and soccer, and has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger since day 1. Once my kids were both in school, my wife went back to work part time. She became a Realtor and after a few years of struggling to earn, she is now doing well. I dont have to keep a sidejob going anymore. We are very thankful and blessed....but we are part of 8% or less of society.

I got distracted and rambled a bit. Sorry for that, I get fired up about this crap. The most important thing I wanted to say is this:

Careful pointing all those fingers at DAD. Regardless of skin tone, which shouldnt matter anyway. In MANY MANY cases, marrying Mom and having a normal 2 parent family was never an option from the beginning. Kids and families are seen as a burden these days to many girls. Something to hold them back, not accomplish. Society is VERY quick to roll out the 50 to 70% of kids that are raised In single parent households...and always blame Dad for not being there. Many times that was never, ever an option to begin with. Especially when these Dem handouts pay moms to stay single rather than get married.

Here's a fact some dont know....those of us born in 1976 have huge ass bicentennial birth certificates the size of pictures with the eagle and us stamp on gold.

Before the days of the internet we had to lug that thing around when we had to show proof of birth.
