There has been a long running debate on whether making public housing assistance more readily available to two-parent households would encourage more dependence or increase the likelihood that children raised in those households will not need it when they have families. We've tried it one way for a long time and it hasn't really worked too well for the majority. I drive through a public housing development on my way into town most days, have for years. In the winter months, when I'm driving in twilight or dark, I can usually see a bunch of men slipping away so their old lady doesn't get busted by the housing authority. It's ridiculous. Does it work the same way if someone gets a Section 8 voucher instead of a unit in the "projects"? This has always seemed like something worth trying to me.

The amusing part about this is that Chief Anderson is a political animal who lacks support from rank and file. He's on his fifth mayor including some much more liberal than the current one and I doubt there's anything he wouldn't do to hang onto the job which more or less makes him a puppet of the "movement" at this point. I guess they want someone with brown skin being the only qualification. Otherwise, that demand makes absolutely zero sense.

The problem didn’t happen overnight and It wouldn’t fix it overnight. Any solution has to look several generations down the road.

Doesn't matter. It won't happen here. THIS IS TENNESSEE and we have a Republican governor with a pair.
Like I posted elsewhere, it could get weird. If it gets rowdy and Lee acts, I could totally see Cooper declaring a safe space on city property, which could include any street that isn't a state highway, and sending in the Metro PD to shield the peaceful protesters from the militaristic state police.

I understand that Legislative Plaza is a state building.

Lol...apparently he is native American which explains the hair. I did take a minute to watch Channel 4's live footage and one of the protesters was putting down the democratic party kente cloth experiment in a hot mic moment sharing it with another protester.
sounds like someone needs reprogramming

^Product of state run education. Can't read, can't comprehend, just bitches.

Nothing against K-town but you got me thinking. The values in private christian schools are much different than public school. There are shared values you must learn if you go there and it's not victimization and blame otherwise you find another school to poison.

Nashville's pretty soft, especially compared to more hardcore liberal areas around the country. I expect this shindig to be a thing of the past by tomorrow morning.
