Nashville Autonomous Zone

You don’t know my side. Don’t even pretend to know my side. My side has been feeding, clothing, and counseling urban youth for 15 years. Writing a check for over $3k a year. Taking young black kids to get clothes and school supplies because there was no dad in the house. I’ve walked the streets of our inner city. Taught Sunday school in a black, inner city church. All While people like yourself sit around and talk ****.
Sure tough guy. Like I said don't wish someone does some dirty work for you. Man up and do it or stop whining.

I'm sure you are a regular Mother Theresa.

Nashville autonomous zone 'will not be tolerated,' Gov. Bill Lee says as one is planned for state Capitol

Hours before some activists plan to take over a public space outside the Tennessee state Capitol and stay for an undetermined amount of time, Gov. Bill Lee issued a warning Friday that autonomous zones "will not be tolerated."

A graphic circulating online Thursday and Friday announced plans for a "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone" at Legislative Plaza, a public area located directly across the street from the Capitol, though it's unclear who is behind plans for the sit-in.

"Further, Tennessee law expressly prohibits camping on state property not expressly designated as a campground area, and that law will be enforced."

I was downtown an hour ago. There were definitely some people with the same look as the we've come to expect from the more provocative elements of these events hanging around the periphery of the area. Not in big groups. Maybe part of the auxiliary brigade trying to decide whether to jump in or maybe some scouts. There was chatter on the scanner about bricks being thrown at the courthouse around the same time, but that didn't last long. Another thing I noticed was a huge uptick in the number of tourists around lower Broad. Not pre-Covid crowds, maybe closer to an average weeknight when there's not a big event in town. Lots of young families down there. Hopefully, things stay peaceful.

Doesn't matter. It won't happen here. THIS IS TENNESSEE and we have a Republican governor with a pair.

We may get national media down there if they think there's a real chance to get a shot of LEOs doing their jobs at the behest of a republican governor. If things do get dicey, I can almost guarantee that mayor Cooper will order a couple of blocks of Chartlotte closed so they can have an autonomous zone bordering state property.

Hey now...he’s entitled. What you’ve worked for all your life is his too. You didn’t build that.
I’m not even talking about that. I’m talking about the type that goes to Greater Warner Tabernacle but lives in Oak Ridge or Straw Plains and couldn’t even name one inner city ministry or group. They ought to be the ones grabbing dead beat dads by the ear and kicking them in the ass. You know what the number stat for poverty is in this country? It ain’t being black. It’s not having a two parent household. Fix the home you fix the majority of the problems. I know successful black people. Insurance agents, attourneys, mayors, you name it. They don’t lament or suffer crackers. They just shake their head and move on. They buy nice houses and nice cars and smile all the while. They are the ones making this country better. The ones like k-town are holding us back. He won’t do squat. He won’t lose a minutes sleep about the kids I’ve worked with. Kids who’ve walked the stage at graduation while both parents are in jail. Kids who’ve cried leaving camp because they don’t want to go back to their home environment. He knows NOTHING but hate and blame.

Let me add that this in no way excuses what happened to George Floyd. I don’t give a rip if he was crack dealer or saint. What happened to him was an atrocious abuse of authority. I’m on record on this forum of advocating police and jail reform. Abolish three strikes. Abolish the private prison system. Legalize pot and get rid of ridiculous penalties for drugs. These are things that have to happen.
