Most Disappointing loss

It was my senior year at UT. I scored front row seats (from Jamie - the nice woman in the UT Student Center that distributed student tix) on Row 1 of DD for the biggest (build up) game during my 4 years in Ktown. The hype was nuts as we were hosting a solid west coast team, that ended up #12 in the country that year at 8-3-1. Johnny, who we thought was going to be our savior, was unable to get his Offense in gear and we scored a G00SE EGG and while allowing 13. Such a major let down to not even show up for the game and be competitive.

I wouldn’t say disappointing, but ole miss and Purdue were tough losses last year. Our guys played to the very bitter end but got cheated out of a win in both

Totally hosed like we usually are looking back at some screw jobs done to us over the years. They really need to move the SEC Offices and headquarters out of freaking Birmingham, Al

We have had a ton of them in the last 20 or so years but for me it’s gotta be the 2001 SEC title game for me against LSU with a trip to the Rose bowl on the line for us to play for the national championship. We blow a 17-7 lead and get outscored 24-3 enroute to a 31-20 loss and Chavis and our defense couldn’t adjust to a simple up the middle QB run by Matt Mauck. We also accelerated Saban’s rise to power as he won his first SEC title.

+1 Worst game I ever attended by a mile.

Been a bunch of them, too many to mention, Memphis 1996 comes to mind though. Vols had no business losing that game . LSU 2001. If only Rohan Davey had stayed the field, what could have been.
