The liberal politicians want to handcuff the US citizens at every turn. The latest target they have set their sights on is the fossil fuel industry and all markets that are associated with it. Automotive, heavy industry construction, manufacturing, etc.
all the vehicles on the roads are bad for the environment and all of the construction equipment is polluting our cities.
No it’s actually not. The internal combustion engine (ICE)

is one of the greatest achievements of the past century. Automotive technology today produces some of the cleanest burning and most fuel efficient engines ever produced. Even the construction industry has adopted this philosophy with diesel engines, producing tier 3 and tier 4 final power plants that are extremely efficient and very emission friendly. Still, the left wants to end all fossil fuel dependence with no feasible replacement to sustain the population at its current levels.
Now their idea of clean energy is wind and solar. I guess they forgot about hydropower, something that’s been proven to be efficient and effective for near a century and has only improved as technology has progressed. Let’s just bypass hydroelectric and send all possible funding for wind and solar projects.
I’ve seen the windmills up close and perform maintenance on cranes that have to be on site to construct and install all of the sections together. After a period of time, usually not long, these units begin to experience failure issues, i.e leaking oil from failed seals, lightning strikes (common) and other electrical issues. When these units have oil leaks, there’s no containment system, just 460 worm gear oil all over the ground. Lots of it.
Then the electrical problems that usually lead to fires. Try putting that out when it’s about 300 feet up in the air.
My point is maybe they should focus on what we can immediately improve and control. The landfills aren’t getting any smaller and just produce methane, a lot of it. As I’m sure you’re aware, methane is 80 times more effective at trapping heat than carbon dioxide. Not to mention at ground level what it does to anyone’s respiratory system living nearby.
Begin with better recycling options and facilities, make it easier for the consumer as an option.
