Mel Kiper said Ryan Leaf would be an all pro.
WR is a funny position......look at some of the WR's that were absolute studs in college......Mike Williams, Dwayne Jarrett, Kerry Colbert among others.......and have been, at least so far, total busts in the NFL.
Bwahahaha! You obviously haven't seen the best receiver in college football...Michael Crabtree! You could be a complete neophyte to football and know that he is hands down better than anyone else playing the position. He has great hands, runs the best ruotes and is as strong as a bull(almost impossible to bring down). Crabtree won't be outplayed by anyone at any level.
I didn't say I discount him. Simply saying he's got enough misses that he's not going to change my mind about Green and Crabtree.Kiper makes a living by making predictions on players. With as many predictions as he has made, he is bound to make a mistake from time to time. There were a lot of people who though Leaf would be a solid QB. Although I take Kiper with a grain of salt, it would be unwise to discount him because of a few misses on players.

Florida's offense should be way down next year with the loss of Harvin and Tebow. Plus, on D, they will lose their top player, Spikes.

Why do you think Tebow would go pro early? I know he won the Heisman, but he has never shown anything that led me to believe that he doesn't love UF and Meyer and wants to jump to the pro's. Trust me I want him to, but I just don't see that happening. IMO he is one of those special player's that put school, team, and coach before his pro ambitions, like we had with Peyton and John Henderson. Stafford and Moreno on the other hand I think are gone.
It's real simple. When one of the myriad of receivers who have played in the Hal Mumme/Mike Leach/June Jones/Every Other Clown Who Runs Some Variation Of The Mouse Davis Offense produces a receiver who contributes significantly in the NFL, they'll be the first. On the subject of Crabtree.....I guess every NFL scout is wrong in saying he is clearly the best true WR in the nation. Did you see his play the last two games? Was the catch he made and scored on against TX just "a product of the system"?? If you have the opinion that he is gonna suck in the NFL....and least have some things to back up that opinion. And the SEC vs. Big 12 debate could go round and round forever. SEC fans will say SEC offenses look bas cause the Defenses are so good.....and that Big 12 O's look good cause their D's are bad. Big 12 fan will say the opposite....that the crappy offenses of the SEC make the defenses overhyped, and the offenses of the Big 12 are so good they make the D look bad. Never ending.
Don't bring Mouse Davis into it. I did that in another thread and it killed it.It's real simple. Kiper makes a living having loud, concrete opinions and presenting them in a manner that draftniks find entertaining. NFL GMs make a living making predictions on players. There's a huge difference.
How is everyone missing this point? I know those are all good offenses but there is no way you average those type of point totals agaisnt good defenses. Its not just one team. Its the entire conference that is very weak on defense.
