Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

LSU and Florida is the SEC's only hope!

LSU will churn out a couple more NFL starters at WR in the next two years and Percy Harvin will go in the top two rounds. Massaquoi will get drafted.

QBs = Stafford and Tebow

Big 12 = WRs Crabtree (TTU) The Oklahoma pair, Dez Bryant

TEs is what the Big 12 produce. Oklahoma's TE whose name escapes me, Pettigrew from Okie State, Martellus Bennett from TAMU is in Dallas now.
TE's name is Jermaine Gresham 6'5'' 265 lb JR.

Anyone think that Leach kinda looks like Vince Gill??

I am not sold on Leach. He has one heck of a team at TT but it took him 8 yrs to get there. But if i was an offensive player id want to play for him. it will be interesting to say the least.

I've not had the time to read this whole thread, so i'm not sure if this has been posted or not. In the 06 Cotton Bowl, Tex Tech got beat 13-10 by a decent Alabama team that went 10-2 that year. This was a Texas Tech team that put up 80 points in a game earlier that season. They could only manage 10 points against Bama's D.

Whats that got to do with the price of rice?...Bama held us to THREE points that season :clapping: Trying to compare scores against SEC teams is silly, They played Ole Miss two years in a row with Eli at QB and scored over 40 points on them both games.

Florida's offense should be way down next year with the loss of Harvin and Tebow. Plus, on D, they will lose their top player, Spikes.

How many of the OU receivers in the Stoops era have gone on to do anything of note in the NFL?

if i'm being honest, then as it relates to the future of the UT football program, i'm not OVERLY concerned with the prospects for future NFL potential in the big 12 vs. the SEC. Right now, i know this much: the big 12 has some very good offenses. The SEC does not.

I'll grant you that the SEC top to to bottom is much better on D than the big 12.......but what i simply can't get past is how bad the majority of our league is on offense. Florida is the best offense in the SEC. followed by, what Georgia and Alabama? then what? the rest of the SEC is basically putrid on offense.

so while i don't think the big 12 would be putting up these 30 and 40+ point shoot outs if in the SEC cause the defenses are better.........there's really only one team, maybe two, that i can see offensively, that could out score some of those big 12 schools.

I mean really, we're talking about a league in the SEC where 9 of hte 12 teams struggle to get more than 1 freakin' touchdown per game. Point being, so maybe TTU, TX, OU, OSU etc....don't score 50+ points in some of these games....they only score 30.......cause of the defense being so good.......i bet they could still, even at that pace, out score most of these SEC teams this year.

Anyway, all that to say..........i don't think Leach's offense would work long term in the SEC.

I would say that Crabtree will be a pretty good pro. He's a pretty special player.
WR is a funny position......look at some of the WR's that were absolute studs in college......Mike Williams, Dwayne Jarrett, Kerry Colbert among others.......and have been, at least so far, total busts in the NFL.

Green at UGA will be a better pro than any receiver plying their trade in the Big 12 currently.

Mel Kiper has Crabtree clearly above Green. (not just based on year)

He also says that Green and Jones at Alabama would be first rounders if they could come out this year.

Jones is a freak and one of the best freshman receivers I personally have ever seen...He plays like he's been there 4 years...Thats pretty amazing

Bwahahaha! You obviously haven't seen the best receiver in college football...Michael Crabtree! You could be a complete neophyte to football and know that he is hands down better than anyone else playing the position. He has great hands, runs the best ruotes and is as strong as a bull(almost impossible to bring down). Crabtree won't be outplayed by anyone at any level.

Keep believing that. Crabtree will be just another Ashley Lelie in the NFL. Overrated, overhyped guy who builds big numbers in a junk system.
