Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

From a broader point of view, football is entertainment, something to we use to escape the dreariness of the daily grind.

Football at tennessee under Mike Leach would be entertaining, to say the least, and possibly, with a little luck, we could even be a winning program again, quick.

Do not be so close minded about it, don't be afraid to try something new or different, especially with somebody with a good track record.

Just my two cents.

We actually have Tennessee fans acting as if hiring Hal Mumme V 2.0 or Dan Hawkins' errand boy would be a positive move. Utterly laughable.

I do not see Leach's offense being consistently successful in the SEC. I know it could not be worse than it is right now but the DBs in the Sec are a different breed as are the defenses as a whole.

Wow, football is just entertainment? College football is not life or death, it's much more then that. :)

But seriously, welcome.

His offense was #1 while at Kentucky and it broke a bunch of SEC records

It is also the kind of thinking that could have an athletic director polishing his resume in short order. Please believe Mike Hamilton is smart enough to realize that.

Yeah,,, LSU, Georgia, and Tennessee's ultra fast DBs really shut down Florida this year.

It is easier to recruit the better players at UT. We don't typically settle for everyone else's droppings.
Mike Leach may be a good coach but he is not a good fit at UT.

You're right.

Mike Leach- visionary offensive mind. makes mere boys into heisman candidates. strikes fear into every defense (including SEC) that faces him. not normal, a little odd, not conventional but a winner everywhere he's been.

Tennessee- no vision, no offense. makes 5 star atheletes into mere boys. draws chuckles from every defense they face. normal, been running the same mess since the late 80's. haven't been a winner in 10 years.

Yep, those two sure don't fit. Hell, why don't we just bring back Johnny Majors & see if we can run it up the middle? Why does Florida go out and get to change the way ball is played in the SEC? Why don't we take a chance? Why do we have to be so damn uptight? Let's get someone in here who can out think Saban & Meyer! Let's get someone in here that's make 'em all crazy trying to prepare for!

Leach didn't strike fear into Shula and Bama a couple years ago

What really blows my mind is that not only do people want Leach or Peterson, they bash Butch Davis in the process.
