Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

If they hire him at UT, watch the idiots on the athletic board give him a $6 million buyout like fulmer's. Very dumb decision.

The whole point is that he has to focus his recruiting on the offense because it's so hard to recruit at Texas Tech, but that will not be the case at UT and with a good DC the defense will be fine. Would you rather have a good defense like this year and not be able to score or have a GREAT offense that can score in bunches. The college game has changed just look around; you have to be able to put up lots of points.

Apparently You have never seen Texas Tech play football...They have a fine defense and very disiplined and a monster of an offense...Defense is not our problem at UT it's OFFENSE...This would solve a lot of problems and quite frankly I would enjoy seeing UT put up 50 points almost every weekend....Plus the post game conference would be an event in itself...This hire would bring FUN back to UT football and We are badly in need of it....By the way, Go tell Florida the spread doesn't work in the SEC

I never said the spread can't work in the SEC.

I would rather have a good offense AND good defense. But I guess that's too much to ask, since the spread offense must be the cure-all of college football.

AMEN BROTHER:rock:

Leach is exactly what we need and if we pass on him it will be a big mistake. I believe his next stop will bring a NC inside of 3 years. It's so hard to accomplish that at Tech though he has a chance this year.

Look at Alabama right now. They don't run the spread. Their offense is good, not spectacular, and they play good defense. You can play smashmouth football and still win in today's game.

TT will get beat in Norman in 2 weeks. Book it.

I think Leach is an excellent coach, my only concern is why would he leave a school that is for sure going to give him a substantial raise and where the pressure is VERY minimal. He has no ties to our school that I know of. I just don't see him coming here, I could be wrong.

We don't want any coach who is concerned with minimal pressure. The best of the best coaches want the big spotlight. Successful coaches don't shy away from big pressure.

That's my point , we will have both here because we'll get atheletes on both side of the ball. I would change DC because IMO Chavis prevent defense doesn't work in this day of high powered offenses.

I personally think he could leave Chavis in as DC. Our defense is actually pretty decent. If we had some offense to keep them off the field this year we would have atleast 3-4 more wins this year. I think no matter who we get we are looking at two years to rebuild.

It definitely wouldn't hurt my feelings if we could get Leach. One thing i find funny is how everybody wanted Skip Holtz because he beat a couple of teams and now nobody even mentions him.

I say Leach but I am almost sure that it will be Kiffen due to Hambone's press conference...If he is planning on announcing it in 2 weeks it is not enough time for it to be Leach

In 2000 Kentucky was #2 nationally in passing offense and 11th in total offense.

they were 2-9.

but who cares as long as we score, right?

Sorry it stated a couple of weeks in the e-mail but from hearing him talk he seems to think that he might have who HE wants...I really do not know but one thing and that I want this to be someone with fire and can bring in a team of good coordinators
