Mike leach called Pruitt's hiring a coup d'é·tat

Not the first time Fulmer backdoored the program.
He is the exact reason the program is in the shape it is now.
Ordinarily a coup d'etat occurs when a general, for instance, takes authority over the President.
Which tells me that someone other than Fulmer made the decision to hire Pruitt....and Fulmer was just a puppet?
Well, Jimmy Haslam wanted Derek Dooley, no?

Maybe Leach was saying the coup occurred after Pruitt's hiring. Possibly he was referring to the committee tasked with finding a new AD (?)
But that wouldn't necessarily have happened if Leach had been hired instead of Pruitt?? So I'm sticking with my first interpretation.

Fulmer hired Pruitt. That is a fact. Please leave conjecture out of it.
