Media Wars

KEILAR: OK, so let me ask you about this. You know, 96 percent of attackers in — when you’re looking at the U.S. Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center, looking at 172 mass attacks in the U.S. between 2016 and 2020, 96 percent were non- trans men. So I know you’re focusing on the shooter being trans. The shooter was trans, and that is certainly of note. But are you missing the bigger picture here when you zero in on that, instead of more broadly these school shooters as an epidemic, and you perhaps miss the through line that connects them all?

GORKA: Well, no, because your facts obfuscate two things. You are using data based upon the predominant gun violence, which is gang-on-gang violence with zero ideological content. If you remove all of that, the gang violence on the streets of Chicago, L.A., Detroit, then you come down to a much smaller data set. So it’s like those who say gun violence in America causes so many deaths and then fail to note that the majority of the stats they are using refer to also suicides by gun, which, of course, is not what we are talking about here today.

So let’s concentrate on mass shootings at schools, specifically Christian or Catholic schools. Then the data set is wholly different. So don’t conflate different data sets just to make a political point. There was an ideological content to this attack. That’s what terrorism is. It’s not because somebody didn’t get the drug deal they wanted. It is an ideological message, whether it was anti-Israel, as in this case, whether it targeted President Trump in its rhetoric, as we saw on one of the magazines written by the perpetrator on that YouTube video, or whether we saw the fact that it was anti-Christian and targeting children. That has nothing to do with gang violence. Let’s not mix the two things up.

Black lives matter , black deaths don't. Unless we can use them to skew statistics for a political argument.

Newsmax accused Fox of engaging in multiple anticompetitive behaviors: Granting access to Fox’s content so long as distributors don’t carry other right-wing channels; imposing fees if distributors carry other channels; and building barriers into carriage deals that bar other channels from competing. Newsmax claims that it could have achieved better success if it weren’t for the trio of measures.

Newsmax is seeking monetary damages and wants the court to restrict Fox from maintaining its allegedly “exclusionary contracts and monopolistic practices.”

CNN And MSNBC Humiliated As Little Known Network Defeats Fallen Behemoths In Key Prime Time Slot

CNN and MSNBC were dealt an embarrassing blow Saturday night as NewsNation outperformed both in the 25-54 age demographic during prime time, according to Nielsen Media Research.

NewsNation's surprising 'win' came on a night of heightened viewership driven by breaking coverage of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The nonpartisan news network, which rebranded from WGN America in March 2021, has positioned itself as an alternative in a cable news landscape historically dominated by legacy players like CNN and MSNBC.

At 8 p.m., NewsNation Special Report, anchored by senior national correspondent Brian Entin, attracted 44,000 viewers in the advertiser-coveted 25-54 demographic.

The Saturday evening 'special report' surprisingly surpassed CNN's Real Time with Bill Maher at 38,000 viewers and MSNBC's The Weekend Primetime at 32,000 - marking the first time NewsNation beat both CNN and MSNBC head-to-head in the demo during a single hour.

NewsNation's 8 p.m.victory wasn't the only win of the night, as the nonpartisan cable news network also posted wins in other time slots. At 11 p.m., NewsNation Special Report drew 29,000 viewers in the demo, beating MSNBC's 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle (pictured), which re-aired a taped episode and delivered just 18,000 viewers

NBC News Lays Off nearly a dozen staffers who supported MSNBC as spinoff nears

NBC News staffers who provided graphics support to both sister network MSNBC and the mothership division have been laid off from their jobs ahead of corporate parent Comcast’s spinoff of its cable division into a new company, according to a report.

Fewer than a dozen staffers were shown the door at 30 Rock recently as preparations are being made for a new company called Versant to absorb MSNBC, according to the Status newsletter.

The first casualties of the imminent divorce were in NBC’s graphics unit, which had historically supported both NBC News and MSNBC.

Comcast is spinning off MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, SYFY, E! and Golf Channel — along with digital properties including Rotten Tomatoes, Fandango, and GolfNow — into Versant, a publicly traded company slated to debut by the end of 2025 under the ticker VSNT.

Comcast will keep NBC broadcast, Peacock, Telemundo, Bravo, Universal Studios and theme parks — the growth engines in streaming and broadband.

Joint editorial meetings will end, and the two will no longer share content except for NBC’s Decision Desk, which MSNBC will use through the end of the year for election coverage.

Nolte: CNN, MSNBC Ratings Death Spiral Continues

Donald Trump might have been good for the wretched cable news business during his first term when MSNBC and CNNLOL were baiting their gullible left-wing viewers with one walls-are-closing-in-on-Trump hoax after another, but those days are long over in Trump 2.0.

Currently, both CNNLOL and MSNBC are in a ratings death spiral as their demoralized viewers tune out, exhausted by all the lies and false assurances that Trump was doomed. If the Russia Hoax didn’t get him, January 6 would. If the felony charges in New York didn’t get him, the felony charges in Georgia would. Joe Biden will beat him again! Kamala Harris and her Brat Summer have this thing sewn up! Look at that Iowa poll. It’s over. He’s done. The Bad Orange Man will never again be presi—wait, whuh?

And now, at long last, the evil that is CNN and MSNBC is dead. Oh, both hate outlets still wander around not knowing they are zombies with almost no influence on public opinion, but their power is so diminished, we only check up on them to point and laugh at them, which is what I’m about to do.

For the week of September 15-21, that massive news week in the aftermath of a trans-loving leftist allegedly assassinating Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, CNN was only able to attract an average of 570,000 primetime viewers. MSNBC attracted an average of only 854,000.

For context, Fox News drew an average of 2.673 million — which is close to twice the combined viewership of CNN and MSNBC.

Throughout the total day, CNN averaged only (tee hee) 400,000 viewers. MSNBC averaged only 505,000. Fox News crushed them both with 1.776 million.

In the age demo that sets advertising rates, CNN and MSNBC are dying in primetime, attracting only 87,000 and 70,000 viewers, respectively. Fox News drew 289,000.

In the same vital demo during total day viewing, CNN and MSNBC attracted only 58,000 and 44,000 demo viewers, respectively. Fox News drew 201,000.

CNN and MSNBC are so toxic to Normal People that during that Sunday’s memorial service for Charlie Kirk, NewsNation almost drew more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined:
